It is unusually cold this morning in East Tennessee. The thermometer bubble isn’t expected to rise above the freezing mark all day long. It did make for some fantastic light yesterday a.m. So, I’m not going to forget my camera when I go to the barn like I did yesterday. Hopefully, something good will come of it if my fingers don’t freeze and drop off first—I know, we southerners are spoiled wimps when it comes to winter weather. Twenty degrees above zero must seem just a little chilly to those of you in more frigid parts of the world. / I wanted to thank everyone whose offered their help with the job opportunity/pricing problem. I just told another member that I’m so excited about a job that would combine my two passions, horses and photography. But at the same time, I’m terrified that I will screw it up. Oh well, I may be past fifty now but that doesn’t mean I can’t try something new. What is it they say?...nothing ventured, nothing gained? / Well, I’d best venture out to the barn. The horses need their breakfast and most likely, since I don’t have electricty there to heat the water, I’ll have to try to crack the inch of ice in the water troughs. Good day to all and again, thanks so much for all of your help….and any more suggestions, ideas or advice are gladly welcome! ~Sande

This will be brief because I have to get to the barn by sunrise this morning. I wanted to ask for some good thoughts to be sent this way for my horse, Mouse, by all of my red bubble friends and those who love horses like I do. Mouse somehow managed to get a rusty crooked nail stuck into her fetlock on Sunday. Treatment is going well but it is still so swollen and infected. I’ve dealt with cuts that weren’t as difficult as this puncture wound to treat and heal. So, all of my time has been spent with Mouse lately or when I’m not with her, worrying about her. Which will explain all inactivity here and any of your great images I might have missed. I will catch up later as soon as my girl is out of the woods. All good thoughts directed in our direction will be greatly appreciated. / ~Sande

Hello my dear friends… My apologies for not connecting more consistently with you all lately. Wow it’s been a busy end of the year for me! I’m still working on my series of painted abstract ladies ( I intend to have a calendar of them before November…must focus….must focus), and I’ve also been blessed with two commissioned paintings that are presently on the easel; both being traditional landscapes, and both needing to be done by the end of November at the latest. One painting is with horses (Spring in Tehachapi), and one that I received just last week is of a deer in the woods (Saginaw Bay Sentinel). I am also going to be posting this week, a new set of self-portraits! I was so tired of my look, so I treated myself to a little makeover, over the weekend. (Thank you to WendyL for the support and encouragement!). These should be fun and completely different from any of my sp’s thus far. Just feel like mixing it up a bit! xoxo I truly believe that this is the most creative that I’ve ever been in my life, and let me tell you, it is pure therapy for me. And I would never be so fully emmersed into this beautiful realm if it were not for all of you! Most importantly Jerame, Susan Bergstrom, KJ Gordon, WendyL and Klaus (x-pose). The five of you have single-handedly (is that a word?) catapulted me into this divine realm with so much support, love and encouragement. It means the world to me that you are all here, and that we are friends! Okay, I’ve yammered enough this morning. ;-p Suffice it to say, I’m grateful….soooooo grateful for being part of this RB community, and so blessed and thankful to have such wonderful friends here.
