Hello everyone! First off I want to say this is a most awesome site that is full of Win! I wanted to check the quality of Redbubble’s items before I uploaded the majority of my art and thus far I am not disappointed! I ordered my Arson Pony shirt on black and I love it. The packaging was amazing and so cute! I won’t spoil it and say what they did, but it’s a great idea and I hope they keep on doing so. Second, the image on the shirt was HUGE, about 50 percent bigger than what you can get at Cafepress and the quality is so, so, so much better! I also washed the shirt and thus far the quality hasn’t decreased. I’ll continue to update my journal here on the status of my shirt to let people know how the product will fare with continued wearing and washing. I hope everyone enjoys the Poseur Ponies and I hope to upload a few more in the following weeks, as well as other designs. Requests and suggestions are welcome and Please PLEASE do let me know if you order something. I’d like to know what people think of the quality and I’d also like to be able to thank you. Licensing options are available so please contact me if you are interested. Oh and do take a look at my main gallery! http://brightsolaris.deviantart.com Take care! With my graphite drawing “Barbaro – America’s Champion” I have these ornaments I am selling for a holiday fund raiser. $5 from each ornament will be donated to the Fund to Fight Laminitis at the University of Pennsylvania where Barbaro was hospitalized for over eight months before laminitis claimed his life. I came up with the ornaments at the request of the infamous Fans of Barbaro to accommodate their desire to find a “holiday” way to donate their money toward this fund. So it was their idea and I am thrilled that they chose my work and ornaments for this. One of the FOB’s (Fans of Barbaro) sent in a press release to Horse.com which is a very popular on line horse magazine. Suddenly my email and paypal account have been FLOODED with orders!! What a trip! I’m going to need to hire a staff to get all of these out. LOL Here is the article. Proceeds from Barbaro Ornament to Benefit Laminitis Research

I just returned home early Wednesday morning from Pennsylvania. The main purpose of my visit was to see Dr Dean Richardson and present a check to him for the proceeds of the Barbaro Christmas ornaments I sold over the holidays. We had an official Check presentation and he also autographed FIVE of my limited edition prints as well! Then we got a tour of the hospital. / / I only wanted to tell the story once… quite emotional for me… so I blogged my entire trip on two posts of my web log thingy. If you click on the small photos they will get bigger. It was an absolutey amazing experience. / / Trip to Pennsylvania / / Trip to New Bolton Center

Well a new adventure for me, something I haven’t tried before. / I am going to be promoting my business by having a booth at the local yearly show. / I have been organising all kinds of ‘stuff’ to highlight the products and hopefully gain bookings and interested women who want to join me in this business venture. It certainly is a first and it will be a pretty long haul too. Friday. Saturday and Sunday – long days from about 7am till 9pm. Sunday finishes at 5pm, and you can’t leave the showgrounds before then, because all the cattle, chickens, horses, baby lambs, goats, etc etc leave before us humans! :-) Tomorrow (Thursday) is set up day and then Friday morning the fun begins. / At least by midday tomorrow I will know what else I need to print off, bring with me, or won’t need. I’m off to bed early for a change! / My big weekend starts tomorrow…

2008 ended not with a bang. The absense of a bang was due to oil. What am I talking about? Man-made devices do not last forever, especially if one ignores their need to be serviced. Since when does a ride-on mower need oil? Perhaps ever since they made the first one. This is of course a serious design error that is still with us to this very day. Such details of technical ‘how to keep the wheels turning stuff’ has never been my strong point. For weeks without end, it, the engine, gave me plenty of hints. The smell of burned oil, the labouring starts, the tightening of the piston within its confines. Could I spare a few seconds to give the poor sod a sip? Of course not. Time is precious, just cut the grass and do your thing. End of 2008 I took the 18 horses for a short lap, none of them sounded happy. I turned around and parked them undercover (I am too kind, horses do need shade), for what? All died in one hit. Turning the key, not one made a sound. Not even a click. Let’s try to turn the doobie that usually turns around, indicating life, it used to. It is stuck solid, I guess the piston is welded to the rest of the engine. Inside the engine someone does not put the 18 horses to use, left in the stable, because this is the ‘grass grow fast high time’ and just perfect to make a point. What is the point of having 18 hp, when all die at the same time? I read somewhere (maybe the owners manual) that the first oil needs to be changed. Why did they not put the second oil in there in the first place? A dead ride-on mower is a dual function device. No matter what, it can always be used as a mobile seat with a steering wheel. A volunteer could push it (for the mobile effect). The thought occurs, ‘do 18 dead horses graze?’ How? Easy. Take the wheels off and let the absense of sunlight do the deed. Given a week or so, the grass underneath will have stopped growing. Time to make some calculations, is ‘grazing’ as efficient as mowing in order to keep the grass at manageable levels? The mower provides shade of approx 1/2 m2. The grass that is growing covers 20000m2. In 40000 weeks all will be fine (but not if it regrows again). 769 years is stretching it a bit. Will the mower last that long to provide deadening shade? The artist within wants to create a design first, hey 20000m2 is a fair size canvas. Where to begin, where to move to the following weeks? I can safely assume that my time will run out before I get to see the patterned patches, no matter which design. Time for Plan B. Ring, ring: / ‘Such n such model, yes, new engine, how much?’ / ‘Could be $2000.’ / ‘What?’ / ...while in the News the cost per barrel of oil is going down. How much would a few drops have cost? I do NOT want to know. Let’s google for some horses. Found a herd with five missing, / ‘Will the holes fit?’ / ‘Yep’ / ‘New?’ / ‘Yep’ / ‘How little?’ (It helps to stay positive) / ’$850.‘ / ‘When?’ / ‘You’ll get it within a week.’ / Done. / Fit, fit, unscrew, rescrew, turn the key time, ‘hummmmm.’ The sun shines again, the birds are singing, clouds on the horizon, better give the horses a run, and so I’m happily cruising down the paddock, 13 non-grass eating horses spit the cut grass out one side. Let’s see how long that first oil lasts.

This is my first attempt at adding images to a journal. I have been putting this off for so long now, thought it was time I bit the bullet and just did it. Computer skills are not my strong point. Here goes!! / I must thank Lisa Kenny for her great tutorial on Journal and how to do them My mum won some ticket to Equitana last year. It was a fantastic day and of course I went ready with my camera. This is my first attempt at “action” shots. / Most of these riders were kids. What they did in these games was absolutely amazing. New group just for all of you among us who loves Frisian horses from all over the world. Regarding the comments I ‘ve got from all of you, there are a lot of Frisian horse lovers here at RB. This group will add something positive to RB. It will allow everyone to experience the Frisian horse feeling. I mean, once you have experienced the Frisian way, you won’t be accepting a different horse breed as easy as you did before. These horses are really proud, they are full of self-confidence, and they are almost arrogant…..Because they know they are beautiful….and graceful. Some of you have seen my pictures but this is just the beginning….. Sit tied and enjoy once this group is up and running. You will never know what hit you.. Hope to welcome you soon as a member of this new and exceptional group. Nothing else so impressive then Frisian horses Comes to you soon!!!!
