A golden Akhalteke horse, a breed famous for its colour, canters through the undergrowth in the Austrian countryside.
A girl and her horse, nothing like it. The Hawks Perch
I had a vision I couldnt resist… creativity can be curse when there are more pressing matters to attend to =)
Spotted some horses in a field on the way to work yesterday, the sun was just coming through the mist, had to go turn round and go back to have a look and came away with a couple of nice shots.
Spotted some horses in a field on the way to work yesterday, the sun was just coming through the mist, had to go turn round and go back to have a look and came away with a couple of nice shots. There was a thick frost on the ground, real crisp winter morning Thanks to Richard Shepherd for the title.
THE LOCAL STABLES TAKING A GROUP OUT ON DRUIDSTON BEACH PEMBROKESHIRE WALES UK
Dusk was approaching as I was setting up my tent after spending a day with the wild mustangs in the Pryor Mountains of Montana. The chill down the back of my neck was partially due to the cooling mountain air, and partially due to the feeling of being watched. As I was thinking about a beautiful white stallion that had taken his harem and run off, I suddenly heard a mustangs’ scream and the stomping of hooves. I whirled around, but nothing was there. Or was there?
My good friend Sally Omar has seen my art ‘Native dreams of Old, ’ and has fely inspired to write this wonderful poem,, thank you Sally. Please check out Sally’s other work here on RedBubble she writes from the heart. x NATIVE DREAMS OF OLD. by Sally Omar Coming back / For a brief moment in time / Looking for what used to be / That he cannot find / Teepees scattered about / Are no longer there / There are strange structures / He cannot help but stare / Where are the fires / So that he can dance / And the bushes / Where he can romance / He remembers back / To red stained land / Where there was war / And there was pain / Arrows shooting in the air / White men eyes / Causing so much fear / Remembering back / He knows how he did die / A rifle blasted / Then he saw the Spirit in the Sky / Going back in time / Brought only terror / That brief moment / Was his error / What was once is now gone / NATIVE DREAMS OF OLD / A sorry story / Too infrequently told

I had taken photos of many of these carved and painted horses from various carousels at parks and carnivals. My attempt to do something interesting with them. “A few verses from the Rolling Stones song WILD HORSES Childhood living is easy to do / The things / you wanted I bought them for you / Graceless lady you know who I am / You know I cant let you slide through my hands Wild horses couldnt drag me away / Wild, wild horses, couldnt drag me away I watched you suffer a dull aching pain / Now you decided to show me the same / No sweeping exits or offstage lines / Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind Wild horses couldnt drag me away / Wild, wild horses, couldnt drag me away
Napayshni – (nah-PAY-shnee) is a Sioux name meaning “courageous and strong.” This is the first in a series. I plan to paint more animal images with Native American influences. Most of my inspiration for this piece came from Western movies and Native American music. The two movies that really had an impact on me growing up were “Little Big Man” with Dustin Hoffman and “Jeremiah Johnson” with Robert Redford. This painting was created using Painter and Photoshop. The final image is 24×30 and 300 dpi.
