Folk Devils and Moral Panics / This is artwork I have just completed for one-man-music-show Onemancabal / I just wanted to share this piece because I am so very proud of it, I put my heart and soul into this work – and I think when you listen to the music you’ll agree it suits. The idea for this piece was to create a long artwork that would be divided into the various parts of the CD packaging – so the far left is the cover, with the middle section on the inside front cover and the inlay, and the far right is the back of the CD. My intention was to have just a few characters coming onto the front and back of the case, to entice people to open it up and be blown away by the intricate illustration inside. Like a reward for buying the CD! We wanted to have innocent looking characters with a slightly sinister edge to them – reflecting the music (which has some beautiful folky, traditional sounds but isn’t all it seems). It was a great blend of my two distinctive styles and I am absolutely in love with it! / I’ll be posting details and credits on my website soon – and perhaps some snap shots of how it all came together…enjoy! P.S This is only a demo CD, so fingers crossed Onemancabal gets signed and we can all buy his beautiful music…

My work was the WINNER of the Faerie World groups competition , “The Brothers Grimm”. Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for me and those that support my work! Excerpt from Grimm Brother’s, Cinderella Story “Now that no one else was at home, Cinderella went to her mother’s grave beneath the hazel tree, and cried out: Shake and quiver, little tree, / Throw gold and silver down to me. / Then the bird threw a gold and silver dress down to her, and slippers embroidered with silk and silver. She quickly put on the dress and went to the festival….read more This is my artistic depiction of the Grimm Brother’s Cinderella. I used artistic license to add the fairies to the tree, the flowers and her dress. I even created a special fairy showering Cinderella with magic creating her dress, her crown, the carriage and horses. The idea of the Wind Horse has captivated me lately. I have always been fond of prayer flags but have never studied them so closely before. On one type of Tibetan prayer flags, often the four animals of the cardinal directions are depicted in the corners and the wind horse in the center. The latter has given those flags the name Lung-ta. They flutter in the wind, and carry the prayers to heaven like the horse flying in the wind. Its appearance is supposed to bring peace, wealth, and harmony. Bright colors, cute inviting characters and floral designs would populate imaginative worlds. Running with these ideas a new direction has emerged. As I close my eyes, visions of a central figure (here is a self portrait) seem to always appear. The White King’s Knight / Artist: No Frills Art / Biography: Danny The Knight’s Tale Nothing matters more than experience in battle. This the White King knows only so well. Once again drawing heavily on the University’s archives and powers, fallen Generals are recalled over and over again to relive battles that they have been participants in. The White Army Generals have long fought or fought under past greats and every career soldier dreams of being immortalized forever- literally. / Though the King’s knights are products of the Supernatural Wing of the University, the King likes to keep them close at hand . This belies his faith in the both Queen and the outcome of some of the experiments. / It also gives him a way to keep his history masked by controlling any Generals who have been reanimated, and who may have loose tongues.

The White Queen-Knight’s Pawn / Artist: Jordan Clarke / Biography: Danny The Equilord and his race, though no match for the White King’s enhanced and magically assisted army were no slouches in battle in their glory days before the rise of the Army of the White Wing and the Equilords amalgamation with it. / History will all show the Equilord as a peaceful and enlightened race but not one to shirk away from a battle if needed to defend itself. / The equine based lifeforms had also the knowledge and capacity to perform quite a few battle tricks of their own and it is these that the White King was so keen to have them as valued allies. / One major battle tactic of the infantry was to create illusions bordering on hallucinogenic, these would include the army morphing into schools of Hippocampus (horse/fish) complete with massive waves forming before it. / This of course was affective as any trebuchet or archery onslaught to the hapless foot soldiers usually facing the field opposite them and cause the opposition to scatter in wild flight.
