  • An RAAF F/A-18 Hornet as dusk approaches. ID: N1_267B

  • A composite of an airshow picture and a recent harvest moon. I don’t normally do composites but I guess a change is as good as a rest. LOL. I’d like to do a sacred ibis against that moon – I have one so i’ll try that next. Let me know what you think when/if you view this one. You might like to compare this one to my other – Sacred Night http://www.redbubble.com/people/lightsmith/art/183121-1-sacred-night Creation Information

  • Avalon International Airshow 2007

  • My original is graphite pencil on watercolour paper. Been sitting on it for a while and finally gotten around to putting him on a shirt. You won’t see it even in larger view, but every part is triangulated, as in an architectural spaceframe.

  • I love hornets, I don’t like being around them but I’ve always thought that there are much worse jobs if you have to be reincarnated as an insect. / Nobody messes with a hornet. I was thinking of the Book of Kells when I got the idea for this. I worked for about a month burying small details in it so it’d be a decent conversation piece. 100% from scratch in 3DsMax and PS Add theyellowfury to your watchlist / Image copyright © 2008 Simon Deevy. • A US Navy F18f Comes close to sound barrier to create this beautiful vapor cloud. / Here and gone in an instant Vapor clouds are a phenomena of near supersonic flight meeting humid Air. / Shot with an Xti.

  • Macro shot

  • When it comes to military aviation photography, shots like these are just “it” as far as I’m concerned. Look at that vapor around the trail edge of the wing, is that not awesome?

  • The FA/18 Super Hornet takes off at the 2009 Avalon Airshow another spectacular display. You can see the full afterburner in use for take off. Best Viewed Large. / When it is viewed large, you can see some people on the roads behind the Super Hornet. / They are the cheap seats, look closely, you may see some bubblers there :-)

  • Another comission here based on a photo by Brendan Skully of the same name If you love Aircraft then check out these other designs below Make sure you check out my Bubble Site for more great designs, examples of which you can see below.

  • bzzzzzzzzzz

  • F/A-18 Hornet close to breaking the sound barrier. The military is not allowed to break the sound barrier over populated areas in the US. This was the second formation of this as the jet passed down the flight line. I have to assume the pilots new exactly what they were doing in order to get 2 formations in the same pass. Wings over Wine Country Airshow, Santa Rosa, CA, 2008 / Canon 5D 100-400 1/1600 @ F8

  • Young child having an extreme allergic reaction to bee stings. bzzzzzzzzzz

  • 2009 NAS Oceana Airshow. Despite the overall lousy weather, I managed to get a few keepers. Here is a nice vapor burst around the 30yr Anniversary Marine F/A-18 Hornet.
