The water around this place is absolutley amazing – the most beautiful blues I have ever seen…unfortunately not so good for capturing in IR…but I managed to get the sky to turn out like the colour of the water. I went out today to get some shots and ended up walking up this rather steep sand hill (I could get fit if I keep this up). On the way back to the car I dropped my shutter release, but after backtracking for a while I finally found it. Thankfully, I didn’t have to climb this hill again to search for it.!!! / And to top that off, I almost sank in mud and nearly lost a shoe at another location…but that story is for another photo…. Title inspired by Frank Zappa. / / / / / /

Original Background Photo / It took me about 3 hours to figure out what to do with the original shot, and another 3 to complete it. I had to improvise with with brushes (i.e – the mermaid’s tail is two plant leaves worked together), but I think it turned out OK. Based on a story I wrote a few years ago about a mermaid being the guardian of dawn. / / Foliage brushes created by me from photos I’ve taken.
