This is an image of Cromer beach in North Norfolk looking to the East and out into the North Sea towards Scandinavia and perhaps some oil and gas drilling platforms. It was taken in February in the morning and the tide was out but about to return – a danger time on this coast as it moves so fast. The beach is deserted, not suprisingly as the wind was blowing from the North bringing cold winds from the Arctic, in Summer on a nice day you would find famlies enjoying the lovely sand and a few brave souls perhaps venturing into the cold sea for a brief swim!

Photographed at Strumble Head, Pembrokeshire, near the Welsh ferry port of Fishguard, this bench overlooks Cardigan bay and the Irish Sea beyond. Canon 10D / 1/160th sec at f8.0 / 15-30mm lens at 15mm / ISO 100 Process: / Desaturated to 93% in Photoshop, adjusted contrast curves for sky and foreground separately, pushed the saturation for the yellow gorse flowers and punched up the blues and greens very slightly. Final overall curves adjustment, cloned out a few dust specs and served it hot with a pint of cider on the side. Any questions?
