  • This art work was inspired by a wonderful friend and wonderful artist, Kym Breeze. Kym once asked if you could describe your life as a song what would it be. The song “Better Days” by the Goo Goo Dolls always comes to mind for me. Thank you for the inspiration Kym, and may we all find better days. :-) Visit Kym’s Gallery: Kym Breeze / ____________ Better Days Video ______________________ BETTER DAYS And you ask me what I want this year / And I try to make this kind and clear / Just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days / Cuz I don’t need boxes wrapped in strings / And desire and love and empty things / Just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days So take these words / And sing out loud / Cuz everyone is forgiven now / Cuz tonight’s the night the world begins again And it’s someplace simple where we can live / And something only you can give / And thats faith and trust and peace while we’re alive / And the one poor child who saved this world / And there’s 10 million more who probably could / If we all just stopped and said a prayer for them So take these words / And sing out loud / Cuz everyone is forgiven now / Cuz tonight’s the night the world begins again I wish everyone was loved tonight / And somehow stop this endless fight / Just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days So take these words / And sing out loud / Cuz everyone is forgiven now / Cuz tonight’s the night the world begins again / Cuz tonight’s the night the world begins again GOO GOO DOLLS / © Dave Moilanen 2008

  • One of my favorite times to take photographs is after a gentle summer’s rain. On this particular day it had rained overnight and I went outside as the sun was coming up. Armed with my macro lens and a star filter I captured this pretty raindrop on a dogwood leaf. The gift was the sunbeam in the background as the sun was rising above the trees. May you always start each day…with a Ray of Hope. / Raindrop Gallery / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /

  • I did this one last night …I have just been going into my mind trying to let go of bad moments and sift though the good stuff ….I guess find the magic I love the water ..always have …and when I was younger i found the back of someones property that had the best dock I could sit on ….I would sit there some morning and think being lost at sea would be the best thing ….sailing to differenrt lands as they came …..it was my time that I could relax laying on my stomach hands in the water and think peaceful thoughts of a life much bigger than mine. 14”x11” on wood panel

  • Surely He has borne our griefs / And carried our sorrows; / Yet we esteemed Him stricken, / Smitten by God, and afflicted. / But He was wounded for our transgressions, / He was bruised for our iniquities; / The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, / And by His stripes we are healed. ~Isaiah 53:4&5 Christ carried our sorrows and griefs so we don’t have too. We don’t have to carry around pain and baggage. By His stripes we are HEALED! Come to the healing water that poured out for us on the cross through His stripes. Come be transformed. Come be healed. Digital Mixed Media compiled in Photoshop CS2.

  • My promise to myself for this year is to be true to myself, and to have fun creating images that move me, that I can connect with on an emotional level. To listen to my inner voice that tells me to do what I want to do, and not worry about other peoples perceptions and expectations of the sort of images they feel I should be producing. I also want to carve out more time for my creativity, and reconnect with my little RB family as the last part of 2008 saw other things in my life take over. Important things to be sure, but my photography, my art and my friends nourish my soul and make me a better person. I need that in my life. Happy New Year everyone, I feel good things are in the air for me and mine in 2009, and I wish that for you and yours also. XXXXX Many thanks to Marcus J Ranum for his wonderful model.

  • I couldn’t do anything happy yesterday.. my art felt dark and it scared me. I trashed for hours so much.. which I don’t mind and am not fearful of as for me it is practice. but this is what came as a finished piece after hours.. she is my darkness.. she is my retrograde.. here is a great journal that tammy/moonsprial put out.. I don’t do forums but it is interesting how she points out the feelings I seemed to have felt lately. Betrayal and Anger too.. / ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞ /

  • I have posted the lyrics to this song before, however, I thought of the same song while creating this artwork of Mary holding Jesus as a baby. Photograph of a statue of Mary and Jesus as a baby; enchanced with several software programs. For a beautiful song, listen here Mary did you know that your baby boy will one day walk on water? / Mary did you know that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters? / Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new? / This child that you’ve delivered, will soon deliver you. Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man? / Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand? / Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod? / And when you kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God.
