Taken this winter at a field close to where I live. Polarizer and a Cokin ND grad was used.
This is Hope my Lurcher, on a snowy febuary day in 2007, she wasn’t that keen on the weather but did oblige me with this quirky shot. I have another Lurcher called Grace as well as Rubicon and Renegade the Ferrets who complete the team, Hope has the nose for finding quarry and Grace has the speed to fill my freezer. Here are the two dogs playing in the snow.

Untouched and a total accident,a macro shot of snow that fell down the roof last winter.I hope I’m not the only one who sees a part of a face in the clouds… :))...better view larger So close,so far… / It felt like eternity… / I walked …and walked / lost in a paradise of ice Hopelessly crying, hoping / to be delivered from that immensity. / I reached to the top of that icy pic / and saw a small refuge. For an euphoric instant / I saw His Face in the clouds / The Keeper of my souvenirs / I knew ,then / The reason of my wanderring… Gigi / / My first poem in english and first experience for me.This situation happened to me two days ago,I’ve got lost in the woods for 4 hours, walking and walking, desperate to find a saving light. It was so dark, even Tchoko was worried, chasing imaginary animals….then I saw thousands of stars all arround me,it was fireflies….it was like being part of the universe…nothing else but fireflies…then I realised I was out of the woods.I met 6 persons and asked for help, one of them let me do a phone call but Michel was working late and wasn’t there.I have to say that I hated humanbeings that night and I cried of rage instead of fear.I finaly saw a police car on the road and went back to where I was parked. It was midnight.Tchoko and I slept all day after, tired but happy to be home. / ...A true story ..thanks for reading…x / / PS. I wanted to do the sunset on the top of a mountain, the same place I took «Together at last»but I forgot the time shooting mushrooms…. :)))..it’s all me. / /

Shiloh and I went on an outing yesterday to one of my favorite local trails, WIld Basin. When I saw this beautiful little tree growing up through the snow, it’s little branches glowing in the sunlight, my heart felt such an overwhelming sense of new life and hope….. Today in the USA brings the inauguration of a new President…history is being made and new beginnings are at hand….it is a time of change and my heart is full of hope for what lies ahead…. Many Blessings on President Obama & on us all for a country and world living in unity and peace…..
Featured # 1 Artists of RedBubble February 20, 2009. I loved the look of the long, late afternoon shadows across the snow on this day. This old farmhouse on the knoll fascinates me every time I drive by … probably more so than any grand mansion ever could. It’s vacant now, has been for as long as I can remember … the torn-off porch was the last indignity. But somehow, love and laughter remain. It must have been a very happy home, once. Image taken on January 20, 2009 with the Nikon D40x, using the 18-200mm VR lens and the CP filter … along Route 97 near Glenwood, Maryland. Cloning of snow spots (from an earlier shoot) and levels and shadows & highlights were used in Photoshop, and the image was then put through Photomatix’s HDR process.
Amidst this very cold winter weather we are having here in Colorado right now….temps in the single digits, winds gusting to 80 mph….it is sometimes a challenge to find the promise of Spring…..but when I see the sunlight dancing on the branches of an Evergreen, my heart is warmed and Spring doesn’t feel that far away. I feel Hope for the coming Spring season for this planet….a time of Peace & Unity. Taken on the Wild Basin Trail in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
Sometimes it seems that the weight of the world sits squarely on our shoulders and we feel alone….It’s during these times that we need to remember the positives of days gone past. Take a step forward, and in our toughest time touch someone’s heart. Watch their face and see the difference we have made in there world and I promise we will no longer feel alone:)))) Nikon D60 55-200VR.

Featured the Smoky Mountain group Oct 2009 I grew up in the Deep South, so snow was a rare treat. It snows a little more frequently where I live now, but not so often as to color it ordinary. Well, the little boy in me was jumping up and down when I shot this image. Not only was I ankle deep in fresh power, but I had a forest completely to myself and this magnificent beauty sharing it with me. Maybe I’m easy but it felt like a miracle to me that day, like something quite remarkable. It felt as if I were to jump any higher I’d never touch down again…and then where would I be? You see, gratitude didn’t come easy for me back then. But when I did let it come, it was so foreign to me that I wasn’t sure I could trust it. Was it providence that put me so often in a place where gratitude was irresistible such that I was tempted to try it on so often that it started to come easier? Yes, providence perhaps, and willingness on my part, because you see, I went thru a spell of some ten years or so where nature became a stranger to me. Why would a musician put away his guitar; why might a painter lock his brushes away; what causes the writer to flush his inks? It was hope that sent me back into nature and it was gratitude that I found there. I found it there inside me. I find that gratitude is the stuff that makes the extraordinary happen inside. I highly recommend it. Gratitude is the grease that speeds us on into better days. But don’t take my word for it. See for yourself. / __ / ©Miles A Moody LivingEarth-Hearthealing.com.
