This is the second shot I got, poor Mel was in the middle of a battery change when I got this one! I almost lost this shot, trying to delete the dud photos I accidentally deleted this one, I almost cried. Thankfully I found some recovery software on line and managed to get it back :)

This young male Snowy Owl (bubo scandiacus) seemed to take a sudden interest in what was going on in my direction. It couldn’t be anything to do with me as we’re quite old friends now. Well known view of the beautiful and huge Bryce Amphitheater, one of the most spectaculor view point in Bryce National Park , Utah. The rock formation known as Hoo Doo range is size, colors, shapes and with many hikes ranging from a few miles to 10 miles plus, you can truly experience this park. This park might not be as busy as nearby park such as Zion but the drive and the views are so worth it. Like I have mentioned in other of my Bryce image, this has become one of my favorite National Park (the ones I’ve seen) for not only the view but for the amazing hikes that you can do there. Well Mel and I went out chasing a storm last night, thanks to her hubby who noticed the lightning over the Brindabella’s. We found a decent spot, set everything up and waited, this was the first capture I got. You would have thought Mel and I were insane, this is the first time either of us have managed to capture lightning and we were jumping around as if we’d won the lotto. Not long after this we had to dive into the back of my car and close the tailgate and wait for the hail to pass!!

Another photo of the old derelict house at Bungwahl. It looked like it had been a grand residence in its day, straight opposite the water front but now ready to fall to the ground.
