This image was taken at Honeymoon Bay, Freycinet Peninsula, Tasmania. I like it because it has a children’s storybook feel to it. I spent half an hour photographing a group of little girls playing under the tree. There were five more of them out of sight, closer to the water. These two were the teachers and the others were the class. In this shot one of the girls put her arm around the other (not really the usual sort of thing that teachers do) to present a charming moment! As the sun was sinking it was magic! I shot it dark to enhance the silhouette and to intensify the colours in the sky. This image has won a couple of l awards and was part of a greeting card set called Light, Land and Water. Captured with a very old second-hand nikon 25-50 zoom. A great lens! Velvia scan. “Friends Forever” was featured in the group Dawn and Dusk Light.

Honeymoon Islands, Cradle Mountain National Park, Tasmania Early morning at certain times of the year, the rising sun highlights Honeymoon Islands in Dove Lake and provides an arresting contrast to the toneless background of the hills beyond. This shot was part of a greeting card set called Light, Land and Water. Singh-Ray Gold-N-Blue Polarizer Velvia scan Very early! Very cold!
Looking Glass Falls in Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina, is a very special place for me personally. I have a photograph of my parents taken on their honeymoon here. I visited the Falls when I attended Brevard College in 1970 and returned here many times for vacation. When I met my husband, Homer, we visited the falls many times, finally moving to a house located 15 minutes from Looking Glass Falls! This picture is actually a compilation of two photos taken a few minutes apart. I couldn’t decide which one to upload and layered them together and liked the results. As soon as I can figure out how to display the two photos, I’ll add them here.

To be honest I cannot remember the name of this Loch which is terrible as normally I would. Myself and my wife spent part of our Honeymoon in Scotland, a 3 day whirlwind car tour and I drove from Edinburgh to Stirling to Dundee and down and across to the Lakes and then to Oban via Glasgow and back to Edinburgh straight to the airport via a quick stop off at Edinburgh Castle. Mental really but I loved Scotland and it was during the G8, Make poverty History Invasion too! / If a Scot can tell me what Loch it was and where I took the image from I´d be very happy.
Another shot from our visit to the Ghost Town/Movie Set from “Dances With Wolves” in So. Dakota. I was so taken by the detail that the overseers of this town maintained, even to the lights in the houses…kind of an odd feeling to walk into these buildings and no one was there but the lights were on! You could set down in a cahir inside and read a paper from the 1800’s… Original digital photograph. Taken with a Sony Full HD 1080 Cyber Shot camera. / Thank You for viewing my art.
