Original image of the Liberty Bell is in the public domain
HILARIOUS SIGN!! 10,000 + marchers at Silverlakes No On Prop 8 rally that banned gay marriage in California. I was very proud to be part of this historic event that brought many people together, Gay and Straight, White and Black and everything in between…
From the Dave and Johnny chronicles. Best viewed large. I’ve decided to submit some of these Johnny and Dave / images to an exhibition in Sydney on May 17th for the / International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO). / It falls on the day 18 years ago in 1991 (I think it was) / that the World Health Organisation officially removed / homosexuality from its list of mental disorders. There are other RB artists involved in this exhibition too. / If you want to know more have a look in the forums of the Sydney’s Guide to Exhibitions group. Here’s the link.
This t-shirt subverts the current usage of the word ‘gay’ to mean something bad, by using it to challenge homophobia against lesbian, gay and bisexual people. It started life as a DYMO label, which I scanned and adapted to make the t-shirt. I turned it into a vector image, then created the t-shirt template design from that. See also: /

Hey everyone Thanks for everyone who uploaded an image to the This Is Oz site site – thankyou thankyou.Have a look and see if you recognise anyone. We’ve had over 150 people upload their image with a message in a week and that’s brilliant – police, politicians, musicans, actors, dancers, parents, teachers, families – all ages, all genders, and diverse cultural backgrounds. Homophobia affects everyone and everyday in Australia people are attacked, bashed and hurt for loving people of the same sex. Homophobia and hate crime is my job…I have also been bashed for holding my partner’s hand in a busy public shopping mall. Around the world the effects can be even worse. State sanctioned exucution, violent police, silence, abuse, intimidation, discrimination and harrassment. We need your support to stop it…you can all do something…homophobia also affects you. Go here to be part of the event. If you’d like to see the amazing work that other countries are doing for the International Day Against Homophobia go here Or here, this is an inspiration Add your voice…thanks Peace / Robert .)
Doing my part, both as a follower of Jesus Christ and as a gay man, to speak up against homophobia, and for an inclusive Australia Thanks for letting me know about it, Rob! 1 John 4:18 / Such love knows no fear, because perfect love casts out all fear
Quarantine the Queers / Random graffiti along the seawall . . . somehow I just don’t think this would be an answer!! HOMOPHOBIA IS A CHOICE, being Queer is NOT!! The world needs more tolerance for in-differences – speak out, speak up!! / Lives of great men all remind us / We can make our lives sublime, / And, departing, leave behind us / Footprints on the sands of time; Footprints, that perhaps another, / Sailing o’er life’s solemn main, / A forlorn and shipwrecked brother, / Seeing, shall take heart again. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Me (right) and one of my good friends Nickole (left, she is in my other pictures “Winters Love” and “Toxic Girl) at Pride in Salt Lake City, UT on June 7, 2009. We figured the only way to teach the protesters anything was by doing it through good example. Taken with a Nikon d80.

It started life as a DYMO label, which I scanned and adapted to make the t-shirt. I turned it into a vector image, then created the t-shirt template design from that. It is based on the t-shirt design below, but with bigger text, and the dymo label is purple rather than blue.
Go here to find out why… Thanks to Mitch for helping me make it happen.

Acrylic, mixed media on canvas *This painting was my response to Jerry Falwell’s statement that homosexuals were to blame for the 9/11 attacks.

Helen Bascom has been relieved of her duties as a voice of morality and decency among us. Helen is not necessarily the most popular massager of self indulgent egos and you may or may not agree with her methods, but there is no doubt that she is a caring and gutsy human being. She has never shied away from expressing her abhorrence of all forms of oppression and prejudice; racism sexism homophobia extreme religious zealotry Nazism etc. / / Various extreme right wing morons have waged a battle against her for years, these are the people who believe a Black man is not fit to lead a country and who would stoop to any depths to see Helen and other liberal minded people silenced. They use lies and deceit to further their self serving causes. I have personally been goaded by them too. It sickens me that they have won :-( / / This is a very sad day for people here who care about the things that are really important and that make a very real difference to the quality of humanity, surely among adults a few swear words aimed at an antagonist do not constitute a hanging offence? Or do they? / / This is a forum on the subject
