Two dancers perform a traditional dance in the foreground. / A fiddler plays the music to which they dance, in the middle ground. / The guests enjoy the entertainment in the background. / There is a light watercolour filter placed over this image to emphasise the colour and movement of the shot.
The land is immersed in the history and prayer of our ancestors. / Past fires of occupation, te ahi kaa, still burn in the hearts and / minds of present generations. / While one generation may pass, another takes its place. “Noho tonu te tapu a nga tupuna” / “The sacredness of our ancestors will always remain”
Taken recently whilst on a short trip to the outskirts of Christchurch, NZ.
A plot to destroy the world begins with a simple threat. Terror has many faces…this is but one.

Oil painting. I often paint from my imagination and this representation is typical of an Irish landscape in county Clare. Irish scenery in the summer is always flanked with an abundance of Fushsia bushes and this adorns all countryside.
I’ve really had fun with this shot of me… morphing it into a hodge-podge of different images… Being a July 4th baby from the U.S… Couldn’t resist dabbling in my native home colors of red, white, and blue. Eventually, I’ll stop morphing this same shot… I just love the way they all end up being similar… yet very different.

Penned especially for this artwork, / “Nothing in the affairs of Men can overwhelm the spirit of a loyal citizen, when a Nation pledged to “Right” stands behind him” ~ Skye Ryan-Evans (copyright 2008) is featured in this version of the “Flag of my Homeland” poster. The patriotic design features a huge Bald Eagle flying before the US flag and the first page of the US Constitution or Bill of Rights. The colours have been carefully selected to complement the parchment colour-scheme for an authentic feel. Designed to rouse that patriotic spark that rises within each of us, “Flag of my Homeland” speaks to anyone who loves their country. (Digital photography, poetry and artwork by Skye Ryan-Evans plus an image of the US Constitution from public domain, serving as background.) 50% proceeds from all sales made, benefit Habitat for Humanity in the US. in Austria it’s not very common that you hang a flag in your garden or on your roof. however, here in the Tyrol it’s pretty common to have the provincial flag on the mountaintops, or at the nearby Almen (Alpine hut). The people here are very proud of their province and its nature. The title to this photo is also on a T-shirt that I bought at the latest Kansas PowWow that I attended. / I’ve wanted this shirt since I first saw it a couple years ago and FINALLY got it. / This image…shows 2 war veterans standing on the side lines of the dance circle. Both gentlemen were at LEAST in their 70’s…so you have to figure what time period they served our nation. / One amazing thing to me about our Native Americans. They respect their soldiers from EVERY war, EVERY branch, of EVERY Nation/Tribe,...wether they’re fallen, POW’s, retired, or even still serving. / Very few people can say that of their cultures like The People can.
