No-one ever thinks to look up at the windows.

The most beautiful place in the world is Brussels; a city where the medieval art is apocalyptic, and tattooed women are adored. I lived in the Sablon, the funky artists’ quarter of tiny meandering lanes and gabled houses. My home was built in the 1500s and held five crooked storeys ; my room had blood red walls and huge ivory windows that looked out over the cobblestones. I would sit for hours on end at my windowsill. My street was full of shadows and history, first listed on city maps in the 1100s and graced with both a Flemish and French name, like all streets in Brussels. Rue des Chandeliers / Kandalaarstraat was so magical that stories were delivered to my windowsill, and I spilt my ink with joy. My username comes from here: bell is from the two fourteenth century churches placed at either end of my alley, which would ring out the hours with medieval musicality. Musker is from the Flemish slang for girl, maskker ……and that was me, a dark eyed woman with joy in her heart and ink on her fingertips, watching the Flemish sky and laughing.

  • Ever dreamed of sneaking away to a quiet, tranquil spot…lush vegetation, hearing the sounds of the forest and spending the day relaxing, reading a good book and having the most yummy picnic? / Well here is a little oasis I created. It looks a lot like an area of New Zealand called the Marlborough Sounds. What childhood memories are made of. The old bach (or crib)...simple holiday home with comfortable but basic living conditions. Getting away from the rat race.

  • Acrylic On Canvas Once,Ophelia had an unforgettable experience on a lush green mountaintop, she felt she was lovingly embraced by the beauty of the moutain there….it felt as if the trees and the clouds whispered into her heart wondrous secrets that few knew. Oh, how she longed for the day to come when she would be back there…to build her nest in the heart of the mountain :D / / / View other products of “Mountain Whispers” in my Zazzle store! /

  • Fell in deep like with Jake the Clydesdale on a visit to a working farm. He got bored after the carrots ran dry and wandered off in disgust. So, here he is, set free on a beach & processed with love. A tribute to all the pretty horses and the peace they breathe into our battered souls.

  • Featured in Cats & Dogs – Feb 09 / Every morning one of my cats wakes up at dawn to watch the birds and squirrels. Today my black cat Shady got to the window first.

He and his wife vacationed in Sarasota in the early 1900’s and purchased their bayfront property in 1912. , Ca d’Zan, now stands. Combining their love for Sarasota with their love of baroque art, they decided to build a museum on the estate grounds and fill it with the finest paintings and objects that they could ever buy. When John Ringling died, he left to the State of Florida over 600 paintings, including the world’s largest private collection of works by Peter Rubens, and lots of other objects – prints, drawings, sculptures, antiques, pottery, jewelry, and furniture. Today, visitors from around the world visit this wonderful complex looking over Sarasota Bay. The Art Museum, Ca d’Zan, the Ringling Mansion and the Museum of the Circus are all open to the public for a single admission.
