“The Road To Home” Ya know, sometimes I just sit in amazement when I am shooting and just look, gaze, and take it all in…..if photography has honestly taught me anything, it’s to see better, noticing things you normally wouldn’t even see. Case in point, this shot here. Most people probably just drive on by this place never giving it a second glance, but to me, it was something very special…...so special that I spent about 30 minutes here shooting it. Living in Colorado really has it’s benefits this time of the year…as Autumn sets in and the sun goes south, the light becomes so utterly magical, thanks to our elevation. It becomes so warm and saturated in the morning, that everything seems so alive….so gold. Captured on a rural backroad between Boulder and Lyons, the old road leading to cattle pastures I felt made a very worthy subject, especially considering the colors involved, the light, and the overall composition with the tree. Pisaq 2007, Peru’ ! I visited the ruin of Pisaq, near Cusco just a few days ago.. it’s a long way up at an altitude of about 3600 mt, it takes about 3 hours if you are not use to it and that’s my case.. the ruin is divided in different sections, so it is like discovering things during the walk. I was on my way to the Temple of the Sun when I met Isidora with her son on their way back home… ! / I love this picture because in my opinion show perfectly the idea I´ve always had of Peru’, his native people and the wonderful landscape !!!
This is Annabella – she loves her home, and feels a strong connection to the tiny town she grew up in. She would love to stay there forever – home is definitely where her heart is!
Serenity at its best. A house on the hill past Landruk in the mountains of Nepal. Here is where l shall retire at peace with nature and the marvellous view. Just stunning.

I spent a large amount of my misspent youth climbing. The Grampians is by far my favourite climbing venue with a great combination of exploration, views, adventure and the most sublime rock imaginable. This particularly superb outcrop is in the Victoria Range in the Mt Fox area which climbers call Hollywood Bowl. The climb itself is called ‘Arrows of desire’ and comes in at the modest grade of 16 although in this shot it looks way harder. The walk in is a steep 45 minute hike which on this particularly hot summers day left us very overheated and sweaty. After getting on the face the reflected heat almost overcame me, making me feel quite queasy but after a bit of a rest in the shadow of the overhang above which succeeded in lowering me elevated temperature I managed to make it to the top without any falls or rests on the rope. My good friend Deiryk took this shot. This shot was featured on the home page in Sept 2008. Acrylic On Canvas Once,Ophelia had an unforgettable experience on a lush green mountaintop, she felt she was lovingly embraced by the beauty of the moutain there….it felt as if the trees and the clouds whispered into her heart wondrous secrets that few knew. Oh, how she longed for the day to come when she would be back there…to build her nest in the heart of the mountain :D / / / View other products of “Mountain Whispers” in my Zazzle store! /

ARCHITECTURE IS WHERE YOU FIND IT / Architecture is to do with the designing of buildings and structures, but in its broader meaning it also includes the design of our complete built environment. It can be found in outback areas, on mountain peaks, almost anywhere on the land, even on the sea in the form of oil rigs and it surrounds us in our places of abode. We tend to take it for granted and complain when its appeareance doesn’t suit our taste. Architecture provides us with shelter, places to work, gives us points of reference in our urban wilderness, but most important of all, it provides a fundamental basis for the way we live. Architecture is ephemeral, can be a thing of great beauty, and its elements can be pillaged and used as building blocks by successive generations. Past civilizations are often known through their achievements in architecture and certain works have become cultural, political and artistic icons. Presumably a family once lived in this little house at Fernie, British Columbia. It now stands derelict and isolated, yet it seems to exist as a monument to the toil of hard working rural people anywhere. The image was captured during summer 2008 towards the end of a photographic journey through the Canadian Rockies. Thanks for taking the time to view my photos and feel free to comment. You are welcome to visit my photography website My most recent publication ‘ARCHITECTURE WITH CHARACTER’ includes images of this rural house. Click on image below for a preview.
Have started experimenting with TTV shots and layering of other photographs. All taken using my Canon 300D. Could really use your opinion on this one. Is it too dark? Wondering if it should be lighter? Any advice would be really appreciated.
Lake Kochelsee, Bavaria, Germany. / This is a very rural region, countryside, I live here. / In the background: Alpen Mountains This magic place belongs to my neighborhood! / I was very lucky (and happy) that the swan was passing by just at that moment. Lake Kochelsee and German Alps. / I live here, this lake belongs to my community / village (1 km from my home). / I come (by foot) almost once weekly for a walk to this coast / shoreline of the lake, relaxing a bit, enjoying nature, and mostly taking some photos. The theatre of nature is unbeleivable, everything changing all the time, no day is like the other, each time I come it is a different spectacle of nature: the light, the shadows, the reflections, the sky, the clouds, the mood, the ambience, the weather, etc., each time it is all completely different. / Bavaria – Oberbayern. / South Upper Bavaria – Bad Tölz Region / Germany Nikon D90 DSLR and AF-S 18-105G ED VR / Treatment in Gimp 2.6 (RAW), PSE7 and Photomatix 2.4 / Single shot HDR from one RAW Featured in HDR Photography 10/10/2009 / Featured in Lakes & Inland Waterways 09/17/2009 / Featured in The Beauty of the European Waters 08/31/2009 / Featured in Stillness Speaks 08/30/2009
