  It will be forty years in December since Harold Holt, then Prime Minister of Australia, disappeared while swimming. Only in the last few years did a proper inquiry conclude that he had drowned that day. The conspiracy theories were circulating long before that. / Conspiracy theories are great. The more unlikely and, well, ridiculous they seem to skeptics, the more passionately believers cling to them. And apparently there are still some among my countrymen who are convinced that Mr Holt was picked up by a Chinese submarine and carted off to Peking (as it was then). There are opposing schools on what happened subsequent to his arrival there. Some say he was interrogated for secrets shared with him by US President Johnson. Others insist he had been a Red agent for years, and lived out his final years in Oriental luxury. / The National Archives of Australia have made the Holt disappearance their Find of The Month.   For some reason, I feel at home with my predominant peers south of the equator. I find it interesting that I joined Red Bubble particularly due to a search to find a better platform to express my own creative abilities with folks of the same aim. That I discovered that Red Bubble originated out of Australia, where I had the fortune of being hosted by this fabulous world called “Aussie Land” back in the early 70’s. I was stationed at the U. S. Naval Communication Station Harold E. Holt from April 1972 – 1974. It is near the town of Exmouth, W.A. I had the wonderful opportunity to mix in with the local residents in the area. We all seemed to enjoy the unity at the Anglican Inland Mission Assembly every Sunday evening. From the beginning to the end of my tour of service, I found myself blessed in the opportunity of meeting many wonderful folk in that territory alone. If I have any misgivings of that experience it would be that I had not taken the opportunity to seee more of a beautiful with so fine a gentry. For the most part, our ancestry are of kindred kind….seeking a new world of opportunity that the ‘old world’ stifled them from having. They took their bets on thirteen colonies back in the 16th -19th centuries / and an isolated continent in the 18th through the 20th century. Even now as I share my ‘fruits of my creativity’, am gin great appreciation of the people of Austrailia. Thank You.
