Eilean Donan Castle one of the Iconic Scottish Castles was just a magic place to visit and photograph. I spent close to 9 hours taking in the surrounds, the atmosphere and the serenity and of course the odd photo or two. Here is one of my favourites, I really like the balance of light and the reflections. This was the 3rd last photo I took during this 9 hour period, and goes to show that patience can pay off. Early morning shot of Paington beach and pier Devon.
I was fortunate enough to travel to Italy when I was 19, this was taken as just a naive snap happy photo on my dodgy old-school camera and I’ve cleaned it up and added some oomph in photoshop. (It’s better if you click on the image to see a larger view)
My mother has this lovely spirit about her which I have always admired. As children we grew up with my grandfather’s video camera pointed at us and my mother’s point and shoot. At this Christmas just passed, I was taking family photos and became very aware that all the grandchildren were happy to have their photo taken and even went out of their way to pose and give me their attention for a moment. You could see them ‘sense’ when a candid was coming and stop chewing their food. I found it entertaining. But I’m on a tangent! I spent a weekend in McCrae taking photos, eating nice things and going for drives and bike rides. On the last day we headed up one of the local piers and there were quite a few tourists taking advantage of the long weekend. Watching others having their holiday portraits taken I was reminded of how my mother would aim her camera at us and in an attempt to make us smile, yell out in her lovely sing song way “Say Holidays” Thanks to my collab partner James
I met a fellow RedBubbler, Adam Mattel yesterday and we did a photo shoot together. It was a very enjoyable morning and a pleasure to meet a member that lives nearby. This is one the images captured along the Susquehanna river at Harrisburg, PA. This site was settled due to the founder Harris operating a ferry across the river. This has been my most popular image to date. It has been viewed over 900 times and is a favorite for 46 members of RB.
views: 3424 / favs: 52 Completed 2004 age 18 I was inspired by the Japanese artist Hiroshi Senju, who tends to limit his colors in his paintings. Sometimes he paints an image where the background is the complimentary colors of the subject. His style is simple but at the same time intense, where the foreground stands out from the complimentary background. Medium: Watercolors This is a painting done in my sketchbook. The paper isn’t watercolor paper, but at least more durable than regular printing paper.
