Bright orange pumpkins against a morning sky with a Thanksgiving message.
This is the Village Shop in Craster, Northumberland. We went camping nearby and were delighted to find a shop selling sweets in the traditional jars you can see in the window. It reminded me of my childhood – a 50p coin in my sweaty palm and the words “don’t spend it all at once” in my head (but ignored!)...
A Thanksgiving card my husband and I created together, and we only argued a little bit :-)

Thanksgiving holiday card with pumpkin, fruit and nuts.
Thanksgiving is one of my all-time favorite holidays. I love it because it represents one of the most needful and admirable of all virtues: gratitude. I also love Thanksgiving because it is not overly commercialized. Few people send thanksgiving cards, but I think we really should. Every year I try to make it a practice to pick two or three people who have most impacted my life during the past year and then send them a card telling them thank you for the positive influence they’ve had. It’s a very gratifying thing to do and I’d like to challenge everyone who reads this to try it. You won’t be sorry! Someone needs to hear your words of affirmation!

Please remember to thank our veterans today on this national holiday. Heck, even if you do not live in the US, thank your Veterans in your respective nation for their service. Even most never receive the highest military honor granted, they and their families have sacrificed in many ways to defend their nation from harm. To all Veterans out there, “Thank You” from a fellow vet. Image taken from headstone of CASSIDY, MICHAEL Rank and Organization: Landsman, U.S. Navy. Born: 1837, Ireland. Accredited To: New York. G.O. No.: 45, 31 December 1864. Citation: Served on board the U.S.S. Lackawanna during successful attacks against Fort Morgan, rebel gunboats and the ram Tennessee, in Mobile Bay, 5 August 1864. Displaying great coolness and exemplary behavior as first sponger of a gun, Cassidy, by his coolness under fire, received the applause of his officers and the guncrew throughout the action which resulted in the capture of the prize ram Tennessee and in the destruction of batteries at Fort Morgan. /

My work was featured in the group Happy Haven / (Thanks Deb AKA TrEaSuReDiMaGes & ECGardner ;) Thanksgiving Feasting When the Halloween pumpkins are gone, / And the leaves have all fallen to ground, / When the air has turned windy and cold, / Then Thanksgiving will soon be around. Thoughts of loved ones all feasting together, / Pleasant pictures from past times appear / To dwell in each heart and each mind— / Then Thanksgiving is finally here! The kitchen has scrumptious aromas, / The dining room looks oh, so fine, / Decorations with pilgrims and turkeys, / And now we are ready to dine! First the napkins are placed on our laps; / Now the prayer for the meal to be blessed, / Then we stuff the good food in our tummies, / And we hope for it all to digest! I did a thanksgiving based miniature origami pic before. But truth told I’m not really happy with it; at the time it was the day before thanksgiving in Canada. But I’ve realized that it has not passed yet in the US so I decided to do a new one :) The turkey (which is really my origami chicken with my peacock tail features), along with the pumpkin were folded from 15×15mm pieces of papers. The basket was folded from a 3×3cm piece of paper (I have folded one from a 15×15mm piece before but it would have been to small for this concept). For a better idea of scale:
