Dawn across the Tamar river on the border between Cornwall and Devon in the UK. The road bridge was opened in 1961, the rail bridge, built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, probably the best engineer of the Victorian era, was opened in 1859 and is still in daily use. / I took this shot on a cold November morning from the Cornish side of the river just as the sun was rising and didn’t realise until later that I had also captured a seagull in the frame. While my scanner is on the blink I’ve been going through some of my photos taken while in Shanghai, China in 2006 and found a few with potential. I don’t think I’ll upload too many as photography isn’t one of my strong points, but it is fun to see what you can do with an image in photoshop. This one was taken while in a river traffic jam, our driver was a real character!

I was fortunate enough to travel to Italy when I was 19, this was taken as just a naive snap happy photo on my dodgy old-school camera and I’ve cleaned it up and added some oomph in photoshop. (It’s better if you click on the image to see a larger view)

I met a fellow RedBubbler, Adam Mattel yesterday and we did a photo shoot together. It was a very enjoyable morning and a pleasure to meet a member that lives nearby. This is one the images captured along the Susquehanna river at Harrisburg, PA. This site was settled due to the founder Harris operating a ferry across the river. This has been my most popular image to date. It has been viewed over 900 times and is a favorite for 46 members of RB.

The brother and sister recognized River from last fall and they both came to say “hello”. The “brand-new” fawn followed suit as her brother and sister seemed to know us and thought of us as “friends”. :) Before they circled my overjoyed dog and they all ran off together, they first make sure that they got their spring morning “family photo” taken. :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Algonquin Park

New note 13 October 2009: Got back a few minutes ago from a prize giving for a local photography competition for photos representing “life is always a pleasure in Buffalo City” as I was one of the 13 finalists out of nearly 200 entries – and they chose me as the overall winner! I received a new camera and a R1000 shopping voucher! My boys, then 9 and 10, enjoying a warm evening at the beach in mid autumn, East London, South Africa, 2008, at Gonubie river mouth

on a recent trip to Tasmania we stayed four nights at the Discovery holiday park just out of Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National park it made a top spot as a base for the Family and i recommend it to any one heading up that way the hosts Mark and Clair made us feel right at home and both are keen photographers. Canon 50D.
