40cm x 45cm acrylics and collage on canvas. As yet another art course project for tafe, our imaginative lecturer wanted us to take 2 masterpieces by high profile artists and imagine, metaphorically if they’re were to be married and to have a child, paint what that child would look like! We could either make them not work together purposely to make a statement or blend them into a new image. This is man ray’s woman with cello ‘f’ holes and one of Kurt Shwitters’ collages (mostly painted but also collaged). At first i didn’t like this too much but after I got stuck into it I fell in love and this has been my favorite painting of mine ever since.

The strikingly colored Red River Hog inhabits the forests and savannas of Central and West Africa. It is omnivorous and mainly nocturnal. It is a close relative of the East African Bush Pig.

This is a pencil portrait of a warthog. I used a variety of hardnesses of graphite pencils on 70lb drawing paper, and used a scratching technique to get the detail of the hair. 2008.

I was on my way into town and came over the hill to this group of Road Warriors and their Harley’s…I quick pulled over and asked if I could take their picture…you see this alot in Nevada as guys or motorcycle groups make their way across the desert. / Nevada provides these roadside Oasis for travelers. / There was just something special about these fellows…maybe it is because I had just watched the movie”Wild Hogs’!!! / Plus the bikes were beautiful… Original digital photograph. / Taken with a Sony Full HD 1080 Cyber Shot camera. Two Red River Hogs doing what hogs do naturally ….........sleeping!! The Red River Hog (Potamochoerus porcus), also known as Bush Pig (but not to be confused with P. larvatus, common name “Bushpig”), is a wild member of the pig family that lives in the rainforests, mountains and brushes of Africa. Adults weigh up to 200 lb and stand 0.6-0.75 m. The fur is reddish-brown, with black legs and black and white snout along the top, a white stripe goes end to end on the spine. They live in herds of 6-20 members, led by the strongest boar. Typically, 3-6 piglets are born at a time. Red River Hogs eat grass, berries, roots, insects, mollusca, little vertebrates and carrion.
