I saw this rusted frame of a bike on the borders of this wheat field, when I saw it it reminded me of the times I spent as a kid wheeling around my own bike with a hockey card in the spokes and the flag raised high on the back and I even had a streamer or two flapping in the wind off my handlebars. To me this old rusted frame symbolizes the wonderful experiences of a fantastic childhood full of laughter, smiles and fond memories, but time is our enemy and for many of us it fades our once cherished memories to distant glimmers that flicker by on rare occasions, and like this old rusted frame are soon forgotten and will eventually fade completely. / / This replaces a previous version of the image Lost & Found. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

as the weather was fairly mild yesterday evening, I decided to go on a short photo-tour here in Innsbruck. / first, I was heading towards the central station, but couldn’t really find anything that interested me…so headed over to the Olympia Halle, the ice hockey stadion. this is just one of a couple of shots i did, but for me this is the one that impressed me most. it’s a six shot panorama, 3 shots, 2 rows and each shot with 3 exposures. sofar nothing really special. the tricky part was as follows: / the mushroom (glass building straight ahead) was only some 7m in front of me and stands up some 12-15m >>> not too much space to take the photo >>> i would need some pretty wide angle. in the end it worked out fine with 12mm and three shots a row. the effect i got looks pretty fisheye-like, but still i think the quality is quite ok.

I came across this ice-rink carved out of the snow on a very frozen Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada. The only thing missing is a few kids playing a hockey game… I like the peace of it though. but maybe this is where they should play the final of the Stanley Cup!

! ! My 13 year old grandson plays for the Westdale Warriors in the A1 Minor Bantam Hockey League here in Winnipeg. Here he has a break away,but hit the goal post on this ocassion, so he did not score. We lost 4-2, but the good news was we came in second in the game…LOL…This was taken at one of his league games in the Gateway Arena, East Kildonan, Winnipeg, Manitoba…Note: I was at ice level and these were all shot through 1/2 inch plexiglas. Watercolor pencil and pastel on stonehenge paper. 22×30” / Watercolor pencil …I use water where I wish an colored pencil alone / This is a Memorial piece…it hangs in Victoria Sick Childrens Hospial in London Ontario , Canada…Toronto Maple Leaf Sweaters / The boys are around 9 or 10 years / Face Off / Face Off was a commissioned piece…A couples 12 year old son died from cancer…Before he past he wanted to go to a Toronto Maple Leafs game and they let him shoot a puck into the net.. Victoria Hospital for Sick Kids gave me a commission to do a painting of some young boys playing hockey with Toronto Maple Leaf sweaters on…so I went to an arena one Saterday morning and saw some kids with the sweaters on and they let me take some photographs so I could put a composition together and I came up with this painting….Victoria Hospital gave this painting to the parents for donating money for a new wing for the hospital…and then the parents donated it to the terminal ward in Sick Kids where it hangs with a plack on it….The hospital had “Face OFF’ printed and gave print to the parents..I received a letter from the parents telling me what a great job I had done in capturing their son on the ice ….I had never met their son or had ever seen a picture of him but I realized then that Face Off had a power to help heal the process of there grief. Since then I have done quite a few memorial pieces and I realize the importance of them because they keep the grieving company and help them remember all the wonderful moments they had spent with them.

Crazy, decorated car that’s been around Vancouver for a while, complete with hockey equipment and poetry… Never having to ask the question: where did I park my car? We don’t all say “eh?” I would love to live in a world in which people looked to themselves for expressions of individuality instead of our mass produced wares.
