  • Forgotten Childhood...
    by Kevin Kroeker

    US$6.65–US$152.00

I saw this rusted frame of a bike on the borders of this wheat field, when I saw it it reminded me of the times I spent as a kid wheeling around my own bike with a hockey card in the spokes and the flag raised high on the back and I even had a streamer or two flapping in the wind off my handlebars. To me this old rusted frame symbolizes the wonderful experiences of a fantastic childhood full of laughter, smiles and fond memories, but time is our enemy and for many of us it fades our once cherished memories to distant glimmers that flicker by on rare occasions, and like this old rusted frame are soon forgotten and will eventually fade completely. / / This replaces a previous version of the image Lost & Found. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

  • Face Off
    by Margaret Harris

    US$5.32–US$121.60

Colored watercolor painting on Archers watercolor paper. 22×30” / Watercolor and watercolor pencil . / This is a Memorial piece…it hangs in Victoria Sick Childrens Hospial in London Ontario , Canada…Toronto Maple Leaf Sweaters / The boys are around 11 or 12 years / Face Off / Face Off was a commissioned piece…A couples 12 year old son died from cancer…Before he past he wanted to go to a Toronto Maple Leafs game and they let him shoot a puck into the net.. Victoria Hospital for Sick Kids gave me a commission to do a painting of some young boys playing hockey with Toronto Maple Leaf sweaters on…so I went to an arena one Saterday morning and saw some kids with the sweaters on and they let me take some photographs so I could put a composition together and I came up with this painting….Victoria Hospital gave this painting to the parents for donating money for a new wing for the hospital…and then the parents donated it to the terminal ward in Sick Kids where it hangs with a plack on it….The hospital had “Face OFF’ printed and gave print to the parents..I received a letter from the parents telling me what a great job I had done in capturing their son on the ice ….I had never met their son or had ever seen a picture of him but I realized then that Face Off had a power to help heal the process of there grief. Since then I have done quite a few memorial pieces and I realize the importance of them because they keep the grieving company and help them remember all the wonderful moments they had spent with them.

  • Architectural Warp
    by Stefan Trenker

    US$4.48–US$102.60

as the weather was fairly mild yesterday evening, I decided to go on a short photo-tour here in Innsbruck. / first, I was heading towards the central station, but couldn’t really find anything that interested me…so headed over to the Olympia Halle, the ice hockey stadion. this is just one of a couple of shots i did, but for me this is the one that impressed me most. it’s a six shot panorama, 3 shots, 2 rows and each shot with 3 exposures. sofar nothing really special. the tricky part was as follows: / the mushroom (glass building straight ahead) was only some 7m in front of me and stands up some 12-15m >>> not too much space to take the photo >>> i would need some pretty wide angle. in the end it worked out fine with 12mm and three shots a row. the effect i got looks pretty fisheye-like, but still i think the quality is quite ok.

We don’t have to buy toys for little Murphy, my Ragdoll kitten. He will invent his own toys and he had lots of fun batting this little jar around. What a great little hockey player he would make. Featured HAPPY HAVEN group ~ 07 June 2009

  • The Keeper
    by Al Bourassa

    US$4.99–US$114.00

in hockey parlance is the Goalie. This is one of the best, Mikka Kiprusoff, of the Calgary Flames at last night’s game at the Saddledome against the Anaheim Ducks. Kipper played well but Anaheim did some pretty passing and scored three against him, plus an empty-netter. The Flames lost 4-1, ruining a special evening to honor their Captain, Jarome Iginla, for playing the most games of any Flame, his 804th last night. / SC work.

  • Humungus
    by Biker

    US$31.92

If you haven’t seen Mad Max 2 then this will be a total mystery to you, and you’ll probabaly think it’s Jason from Hallowe’en or something, but it’s not. Go and rent out Mad Max 2 and prepare to be blown away by the film that set the standards for all post apocolyptal type films that followed. This is the head baddie guy: Humungus, the Lord Humungus, warrior of the wasteland… the Ayatollah of Rock ‘n’ Roller!. I thought about adding the caption “Just walk away” or “You defied me! You puppy!” but figured the picture spoke enough for itself. Done originally as a pencil drawing for the base then various settings of air brush in photoshop. Chuffed to bits that way it came out too. Biker

  • The beauty of Alberta, Canada Lyrics by Gordon Lightfoot: / Oh the prairie lights are burnin’ bright / The chinook wind is a-movin’ in / Tomorrow night I’ll be Alberta bound / Though I’ve done the best I could / My old luck ain’t been so good and / Tomorrow night I’ll be Alberta bound / No one-eyed man could e’er forget / The rocky mountain sunset / It’s a pleasure just to be Alberta bound / I long to see my next of kin / To know what kind of shape they’re in / Tomorrow night I’ll be Alberta bound / Alberta bound, Alberta bound / It’s good to be Alberta bound / Alberta bound, Alberta bound / It’s good to be Alberta bound Oh the skyline of Toronto / Is somethin’ you’ll get onto / But they say you’ve got to live there for a while / And if you got the money / You can get yourself a honey / A written guarantee ta make you smile / But it’s snowin’ in the city / And the streets and brown and gritty / And I know there’s pretty girls all over town / But they never seem ta find me / And the one I left behind me / Is the reason that I’ll be Alberta bound Alberta bound, Alberta bound / It’s good to be Alberta bound / Alberta bound, Alberta bound / It’s good to be Alberta bound / It’s good to be Alberta bound

  • HE HAS A BREAK AWAY
    by Larry Trupp

    US$3.99–US$91.20

! ! My 13 year old grandson plays for the Westdale Warriors in the A1 Minor Bantam Hockey League here in Winnipeg. Here he has a break away, but hit the goal post on this ocassion, so he did not score. We lost 4-2, but the good news was we came in second in the game…LOL…This was taken at one of his league games in the Gateway Arena, East Kildonan, Winnipeg, Manitoba…Note: I was at ice level and these were all shot through 1/2 inch plexiglas. Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi F stop: F/4.5 Exposure: 1/40 sec. Focal length: 90.0 mm Flash: flash did not fire, compulsory flash mode (16) Shutter speed (Tv): 5.3

  • I was walking around and taking pictures during our local hockey tournament when I started talking with the official photographers. After some time, the lady asked me if she could see my camera, took off my 18-55mm lens, replaced it with a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR…. and told me to go shoot some pictures of the hockey games. Oh boy!!! I spent a whole hour trying out the lens, and this is one of the shots I made with it, through the battered plexi around the rink. I almost cried when the time came to give it back. :-( The kids here were 9 or 10 years old and belonged to the category Atome C. This was a grand final game. Focal length 140mm / ISO-800 / Aperture f/3,2 / Shutter 1/80 sec. Shot in manual mode / Nikon D60 / Nikon AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF Finished in 2nd position of Top Ten in the Sports challenge of the OLDER KIDS Aged 8-16 group on April 18, 2009

  • Diesel
    by Al Bourassa

    US$4.99–US$114.00

June 21/09 / If you want to win the game, you have to beat DIESEL one more time than his team beats your goalie! And that doesn’t happen very often! My grandson is quite the diligent goalie!

  • This is our winning inline hockey team from the end of the 2006 season. The grand final was played at the new Dandenong rink. You can see the large Team trophy in front and our goalie is also holding his own Goalie award. The team’s game coach is Tim Foulds-Smith (in the black T-shirt), who is also the captain of the Senior A grade team. About half of the team also represent Victoria at national competitions, while the other half are up-and-coming players who are a good chance to represent us in the near future.
