went to the Brecon Beacons in South Wales at the weekend and photographed these beautifull, mystical trees coverd in moss and lichen. They inspired me to do a bit of artwork :-) Doorway comes from St. Konan’s Kirk, Loch Awe,Scotland

A nice cozy Hobbit Hole
If one is lucky, a solitary fantasy can totally transform one million realities. Maya Angelou
Reminds me of a certain hobbit… Vue render for background, Poser for foreground. Fence modeled in Blender. Re-texture of vest using Stitch Witch (very cool program!!) Bird by Peace-of-art Larger view here.
Photoshop – several different photos in this one. I meant to do something for Wizard’s First Rule again, but ended up with something from Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit. Hobbit Hole Stock http://foxstox.deviantart.com/art/Hobbit-Cave-71599593
This little one-room guest house is perfect for sleepovers, I’m told by the landowner. It stays naturally cool in the warm summer months, due to the open cistern in one corner of the room. It is both cozy and inviting, and it’s located in a very rural, very quiet area near the end of an undeveloped country road. I can’t recommend it highly enough… I’d live in that area myself if I could. Situated among the trees and green grass and a perfect little garden, it would be a great place to hide away with a favorite book for an afternoon. Number thirty-three in the Hobbit Hut series. Thank you so much, Tammy… : ) ~ LavenderMoon Surrealtor

Acrylic on Stretched Canvas (2007) This is part of my private collection.
Second in the series of ‘Surreal Estate’ Located within a few miles of Itch-N-Twitch Cove, this little gem is spacious and roomy, for the more oaf-ey types. LavenderMoon~ (Century One Surrealtor)
Some Hobbits have become less traditional, shunning the legendary and going more for the pre-fab abode. It was bound to happen, with the bottom dropping out of the housing market…. But this is a rare find… a pre-fab that has been tended to with all the loving care of a back-home underhill hovel. And it’s extra-roomy, as Hobbit Huts go. Number eighteen in the Hobbit Hut series. For those who sometimes lose sight of true North….you can always go out and take a look at the rooftop of this little forest find. They say moss grows on the North side of the tree or stone…. well… apparently it grows on the North side of the Hobbit Hut, as well. This is no one-trick-pony, this. Number nineteen in the Hobbit Hut series. LavenderMoon~ Surrealtor
Another angle, the view from the road. I was so glad to be invited down to see it up close. I didn’t expect to be invited inside it! And one of the dogs ran past me and took a big drink from the bubbling spring in the corner of the room… you never have to re-fill or wash the water bowl! LavenderMoon~
This is one of my very favorite pictures, and it was taken in Battle Ground Lake, Washington. When I was a child, we lived close to Yosemite, and had a forest in our backyard. This picture reminds me of that time.
This a reworking of some art work I have had stored away for years but was never quite happy with. Have finally had the time to make it look how I think it should. . .I think, not sure yet, we’ll see. Anyway, it may change again somewhere down the line but for now I’m ok with it, maybe. The inspiration to create this image was taken from the book “The Hobbit” by J.R.Tolkien. The idea was formed from the part of the book when Smaug the dragon emerges from the Lonely Mountain. Have always loved this book as a kid and still do to this day.
From Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings”. Watercolor and watercolor pencils.
