  • Dance of the Migration
    by Jan Piller

    US$4.83–US$110.20

/ A flock of birds, it swooped and danced, Held my gaze while I stood entranced. They moved as one through the atmosphere A minuet as they drew near. Thousands of birds in a flight of grace; Each tiny bird kept its own place. The percussion beat of their drumming wings Keeping time while the multitude sings, And I can hear them on their stage in the air A traveling show to who knows where. Perhaps a summer home, a perch, A quiet place in a Silver Birch. An end to the long dance, a place to rest Where wing and song can pause in a feathered nest.

This is actually the oldest piece I’ve posted in here. I did this back when I was a freshmen in college nearly ten years ago. Wow, was it really that long ago? Seriously? Holy crap, I’m getting old. Anyway, this thing was absolutely huge and I went though a a WHOLE LOTTA’ pencils while drawing it.

Don’t you remember THE BIRDS? There were all sorts of art exhibits in Brooklyn on this day…and this was just one of my many sightings on this day. The birds are not real. They appear to have crashed into this window—as they’re stuck on there…or pasted on.

  • Mood à la Hitchcock
    by Johanne Brunet

    US$3.99–US$91.20

The name Alfred Hitchcock is one of the first thoughts that popped into my head when I saw this spot in Ville Sainte-Catherine, close to the Kahnawake Mohawk territory. The atmosphere around the tree was kind of creepy, with the gray sky and cold wind. This part of the St. Lawrence river was half frozen, but we can see that it was running freely where the current was stronger, close to the opposite shore. Focal length 30mm / ISO-100 / Aperture f/8 / Shutter 1/250 sec. Nikon D60 / AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f3.5-5.6G VR This was shot only a little farther down from where I took the picture of the Lonely Lady on a Lonely Bench

And the people in the houses / All went to the university / Where they were put in boxes / And they came out all the same / And there’s doctors & lawyers / And business executives / And they are all made out of ticky tacky / And they all look just the same. And they all play on the golf course / And drink their martinis dry / And they all have pretty children / And the children go to school, / And the children go to summer camp / And then to the university / Where they´re put in boxes / And they come out all the same. And the boys go into business / And marry & raise a family / In boxes made of ticky tacky / And they all look just the same, / There’s a pink one & a green one / And a blue one & a yellow one / And they are all made out of ticky tacky / And they all look just the same. / -Malvina Reynolds These houses are actually in an adjacent neighborhood to Westlake Village, which is actually a quite nice and well-maintained neighborhood in Daly City, Ca. I think the houses built after the song was written, like these, actually fit it better. Of course I had to add a bit of a decrepit and horror element.

  • Taken of a crow in Pittsburgh, I was struck by the green background and his red eye and wanted to take it a few steps further and create the mood I feel when these birds come into my yard and stare at me and at the same time I have always found them fascinating. / Shot with a canon 40d and played with in PSCS3

This is about that face in the crowd that seems to follow you everywhere. Where ever you look you can feel her eyes on you. She appears in your reflection in a mirror , but when you turn she’s gone. Who? What? Why? Questions you may never know the answer to…You’re at an art exhibit and there she is right in front of you. Coming at you!...Thanks for looking Seth.
