How fun! These are old cast iron farm equipment seats shown at a local tractor festival this past weekend. The man who owned them has over 600 of them, most dated pre-1900s. this is my daughter’s shot – I love the different colors. Yes, folks… we do have TRACTOR festivals in Texas! We also throw buffalo chips, but I won’t get into that… Oct 08 Update: Thanks to everyone who voted for this photo to be Country Magazine’s Rural Photo of the Year. It made the top 4!!! E.

An old 1930’s Mercedes Benz on exhibition at NGV (National Gallery of Victoria) in Melbourne. This car was a V8 had automatic transmission and went from 0 – 100kmph in only 16 seconds! haha how times change! Background desaturated in Photoshop and Gaussian Blur applied to background layer. I wonder who it was that left this beautiful old car behind in the middle of no where? This mystery is what I love about these old wrecks, so many bits and pieces taken from the old girl, maybe to help another breakdown get going again? This beautiful wreck was about 50 klms out of Mildura, on the way to Mungo National Park, on the unsealed and rough road. Canon 50D, 15mm. Available large, and best viewed large!

I think every Australian knows of Port Arthur, for dark events that happened here, both in the recent past, and early days of Australia. A correctional facility for the re-offending criminals from Britain and Ireland, this was more than just a jail. It was about changing these men to rejoin society. It was used from 1833 until the 1877 when it was closed down. This was the main church, and it was one of Australia’s first non-denominational churches. Built using convict labour, in the gothic style. The bird in the shot is a crow. I did try to get one of the many rosellas in the area in the shot, but no luck there. Canon 50D, 10mm.
