I’m starting to enjoy this HDR business! Once again we are in the Yanchep National Park, 50 kms north of Perth, Western Australia. For a few months now the water level in the lake has been too low to allow people to hire boats but recent heavy rains have done wonders for the wetlands and now a limited number of row boats are available for hire once more. This was taken late afternoon in RAW, aperture preferred mode, ISO 200 and three exposures ranging from -1 through to +1. Camera was tripod mounted and set to auto focus.
I got this and other fabulous shots of the Eiffel Tower last time I hired a helicopter in Paris, France. Unretouched. Straight from the camera and in “the wild”.
The challenge was to design a poster that promotes your work. This will probably be tweaked a million times :) but here it is at the moment. / Why is it always harder to think of something for yourself? Thanks for looking! A poster version of this (since moved to my design bubble) was Featured in the ‘Art Students and Beginners’ Group, Aug 2008
This is a shot I took at my last workshop of my latest passion. It is a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1. It has been imported from America and has been a real learning curve for me. It is left hand drive and has a very sticky 3 speed on the floor manual shifter. Remember loving these cars as a kid. Was captivated by their beautiful flowing lines. Still am excited by them even now. Don’t drive this car too often so am looking to hire it out for shoots if anyone is interested. Happy to drive it within the Melbourne suburban area. Best Wishes Tony. ps; Also utilise this car and my other car in the workshops that I am running. / empowered beauty / www.leapoffaith.com.au – my personal website

Confronting society can begin to tire: / Just come on down to tism boat hire - / When you wanna do a line no one will reproach ya / When you dangle it from the side of a little six stroker

From the UCV website: The Loucks Farm represents a typical progressive farm of the 1860s. It is named for the family that owned the impressive stone farmhouse that originally sat on the banks of the St. Lawrence in Canada’s Dundas County. The Loucks family were descended from a Loyalist of German ancestry who settled in the area after the American Revolution. There is an air of affluence around the Loucks farm since the 1860s were a prosperous decade for ambitious farmers who developed improved breeding stock, bought the latest agricultural machinery, or who joined together to build a co-operative cheese factory to turn their excess milk production into export dairy products for domestic or international consumption. This might look like a bricks-and-mortar building, but it isn’t. It is one of Calcutta’s “pandals” – temporary constructions erected during religious festivals to house clay images of Hindu gods and goddesses. The pandals – generally comprising bamboo frameworks covered with a fabric facade – are specifically built for the Pujas. They are dismantled immediately after the intricate clay statues are immersed in the Hooghly river. As I was lining up this shot to include the brightly coloured pandal and the remarkable street lanterns, an Ambassador taxi drove slowly down the street. These Ambassadors are based on the British-built 1950s Morris Oxford – and they are a familiar sight on Calcutta’s streets and, indeed, around the entire country. As I saw the vehicle, I had to change my tactics immediately. By swivelling slightly to the right and changing my focal length, I was able to include the “Taxi” sign and the bright yellow roof of the cab. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. This was shot in October 2006 with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/350 sec, ISO 200, focal length 78mm. (India02 072)

Please View Large On a recent day out to the Lake District National Park, stopping off at Keswick we came across these hire boats all ready to go for the days business. The best time to capture these is early in the morning before it gets real busy here.
