Hippogryph

2 creative works found

  • This is the 4th in a series of greeting cards I designed with “Medieval Beasts” as the subject matter. Some of the set are traditional, others my own take. This hippogryph represents the latter. I wanted to portray the creature the way I would draw it, with intricate feather detail, and a a-typical color scheme. The inspiration for the coloration came from Peregrine falcons. I also wanted the hind quarters to be more deer-like, instead of a horse. The framing was inspired by an old leatherbound journal I have.
