I guess the title says it all… Taken in Oro-Medonte Township, about 10 minutes outside of town (Orillia). Oro-Medonte Twp is the combination of 2 townships (happened during the county re-arrangements). While Oro was considered more of a farming area, Medonte also has farms, but the land here is hilly and the roads wind and curve and climb from one concession to another. This particular area isone where I shoot fairly often – further along the road (you just see the beginning of the area in the background) is a section known as “The Tunnel”. In summer and fall the trees form a leafy canopy overy the roadway, intertwined with each other the branches keep sunlight at bay on a hot day. In winter, right after a snow, the heavey tree tops bow down towards the roadway enclosing you in the winter cold. The clouds in the sky were enhanced with the Lucis Art “exposure” filter.

another dark and mysterious landscape shot with Infrared film early one morning while I was staying at a friends place in the Hunter Valley. I’d gotten up very early to shoot for the rising sun and on my way to a place I call the ‘big valley’ .... on account of the very big valley there…... I past this hill just as the morning light hit the peak of it which makes it look like its been topped with icecream somehow. The radience of the light on this hilly peak gives the shot a different sort of drama that really appeals to me in this warm and temperate land that really never gets snow except in a few tiny places. So this then is a pretend snow topped mountain in place that is almost perfectly perfect…....

Another my current series of Infrared landscapes all shot somewhere deep within the Hunter Valley at a friends place a couple of years ago. This particular one is a companion shot to big hill little cow and shows more of the hill and none of the cow. I am quietly enjoying the softness of the early morning light playing with the contours of the trees on the hill side….. enjoy

Chilean Blue Eagle also known as the Black-chested Buzzard-eagle. Bird of prey found in South America. It is the only member of the genus Geranoaetus. It belongs in the hawk and eagle family Accipitridae and is allied to the Buteo hawks. The Black-chested Buzzard-eagle is readily identified in flight by its short wedge-shaped tail scarcely protruding from its long, broad wings.It is usually possible to make out the generally white underparts with the dark chest-band and tail but you are less likely to see its grey upperparts. It is found in mountainous or hilly terrain where it spends a lot of time soaring while looking for prey. This consists of mammals such as rabbits, some birds, snakes and carrion. It nests in high trees or on rocky cliffs.

Red hilltops
by zumiI was leaving ghost village of East Coulee (Alberta, Canada) when the clouds to the west opened letting the dusky rays of the setting Sun hit the long rusty hilltops running along the Red Deer river. From the bridge I also managed to capture the mirror image of the sun lit hills reflected in the shallow water. It was a magical display lasting for about 30 mins.
