View from the third floor of the Villa I am staying at…. every angle has this amazing landscape you could stare at for hours… An incredible painterly feel – the way the light moves in and out and highlights the abodes is awesome.

Landing in Naples I was confronted by this vision of a blend of classical hillside with majestic buildings on top and the contrast of high density apartments and buildings, which are made up of little graphic squares upon graphic squares and plain concrete with minimal window frames. This just caught my eye – and I was fascinated with this mixture of styles just sitting there in the one place!

This shot is taken in the north of Rwanda near the DR Congo border. It showcases the absurd beauty of this broken land. Known as the land of one thousand hills Rwanda is bursting at the seams. This shots is part of the ‘world’s most expensive card’ promotion initiated by John Robb. It has raised close to $700 AUD so far.

Loch of the Lowes lies in the beautiful scottish borders between Moffat and Selkirk. It flows into nearby St Mary’s loch (with its thriving sailing club) past old Tibbieshiels inn, hostelry and overnight stop for walkers on the southern upland way crossing Scotland. Overlooking the north end of the loch is a monument to James Hogg – the Scottish Poet known as the Ettrick Shepherd, friend and contemporary of Sir Walter Scott. Taken 4/3/08 (untouched) with a pocket fuji finepix A500 (There is a 2nd loch of the lowes further north in Perthshire, complete with osprey viewing centre – but you can see the wonderful fish eagle hunting here too if you are lucky!) My first ever feature on the home page ages on 23rd April 2008 and what a party that was…LOL See also : ‘i am a rock’ and ‘LoL’ loch of the lowes

Unfortunately the skies here in the desert are mostly hazy and full of sand and dust! There are not too many days when there are clear horizons with clouds, and to be able to catch a sunrise like this was just excellent! Located in Libya towards the Algerian border. / /

My husband and son. This was taken on Fathers Day another of my son wiht our dog / and this is our daughter and the dog taken at the same time as ‘my daddy’. /

This started out an a plain infrared image of the tree….. I may have gotten a little carried away because I just counted the layers and there were 15! The tree is in Edgeworth, Newcastle, NSW, near a new housing estate. It may be familiar to those of you who have been watching me for a while. I often like to go and visit this guy…hopefully he will be there for a while longer.

The Russel Burn tumbles down from the mountains of Applecross, seen as you take the spectacular drive over the Bealach na Ba ( the Pass of the Cattle ) single track road. It is an old drover’s route, and rises to 2,053 feet, from where, on a clear day, you can see outstanding views of the Western Isles in all their glory. Mostly though, it will be so cold and windy that you will will not want to stay too long !! It is a very wild and remote area, so incredibly beautiful. Taken on a Canon EOS 40D, mounted on tripod, / canon 17-85mm IS lens at 17mm. Polariser fitted, ( to slow the shutter for more blur) / f23, three shot hdr (-2EV , +2EV and 0EV …..from a minus 1 stop underexposure reading 0f f23, 1/15 sec. on Aperture priority ) iso 100, Auto wb, RAW files converted in Photomatix and Adobe CS3. / Finished with a little Orton. Image taken at Triadelphia Reservoir off of Route 97 in Montgomery County, Maryland, October 26, 2009. Nikon D300 with the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens; UV and CP filters; hand held, shutter 1/100, aperture f/10.0, exp.0.00, iso 500. Post processing included hdr at +/- 2 evals in Photomatix from a single hand held image, and a very faint texture layer.
