This was taken on the Guadelupe River in Kerrville Texas. This is the photo that got me hooked on photography, especially nature. I have had this one put on a 2 ft by 3 ft canvas and it is lovely as a painting.

A PERSPECTIVE ABOUT OLD BARNS / He said,” you couldn’t get paint that beautiful”, for a new country home he’s building down the road. Only years of standing in the weather, bearing the storms and scorching sun, only that can produce beautiful barn wood. / It came to me then. We’re a lot like that, you and I. / Only it’s on the inside that the beauty grows with us. / Sure we turn silver gray too… and lean a bit more than we did when we were young and full of sap. / But the Good Lord knows what He’s doing. / And as the years pass He’s busy using the hard weather of our lives, / The dry spells and the stormy seasons do a job of beautifying our souls that nothing else can produce. / And to think how often folks holler because they want life easy!
While on a photographic holiday in New Zealand I noticed a small lake on a map of the South Island. I thought it was worth investigating and I am really glad that I did. I was really attracted to the mountain ranges which seemed to surround the lake on all sides. The conditions were not right on my first visit, however I returned on another occasion only to find that a strong wind meant there would be no reflections. My wife encouraged me to persevere and the wind suddenly ceased and allowed me to capture this image. I also captured a second image from a different viewpoint (see image Lake Hayes).
The juxtaposition of the hill slope and the swirl of the clouds provided a nice landscape in the Autumn afternoon. / Enjoy a large mounted print of this photograph to enjoy the almost 15,000,000 pixels used to create it.
Just a farmer’s pond in the hills, but so picturesque I had to shoot it. / Enjoy a large mounted print of this photograph to enjoy the almost 15,000,000 pixels used to create it.

Smoke from forest fires in the British Columbia interior help cast the sun a brilliant orange as it set on this late August 2009 afternoon. For a brief time, the very color of the fires that produced the smoke, became reflected in the windows of downtown Vancouver high-rises.
