This shot is taken in the north of Rwanda near the DR Congo border. It showcases the absurd beauty of this broken land. Known as the land of one thousand hills Rwanda is bursting at the seams. This shots is part of the ‘world’s most expensive card’ promotion initiated by John Robb. It has raised close to $700 AUD so far.

This was one of those freak photos, straight off my camera, the only thing i changed was the white balance and the original was in color!!!... i walked straight past this spot on the walking track and my friend pulled me up!!! Spider webs were every where, there was late afternoon fog that had nt lifted, sun was perfect, dead trees, it was all there!! 30 mins later when we walked past, the sun was too low and the fog had lifted and the web could hardly be seen!!! freaky…......right place…......right time…....hahahaha…

Joshua Tree National Park, California. This huge rock has been hollowed out by erosion and has two holes through it. Native Americans left many petroglyphs inside.

Valley Of Mist was shot from Empress Lookout over the Valley of the Waters in the Blue Mountains National Park in NSW, in RAW using a Canon EOS 10D with Sigma 50mm f1.4 EX DG HSM lens with a Warm Filter and UV Filter, ISO 100, 1/20 sec at f4.5. In converting the image I ramped up the gamma level to enhance the see-thru effect without destroying the fog, which was streaming up from the valley floor in front of us at a rate of knots – whiteout one second, muted clarity the next. The Russel Burn tumbles down from the mountains of Applecross, seen as you take the spectacular drive over the Bealach na Ba ( the Pass of the Cattle ) single track road. It is an old drover’s route, and rises to 2,053 feet, from where, on a clear day, you can see outstanding views of the Western Isles in all their glory. Mostly though, it will be so cold and windy that you will will not want to stay too long !! It is a very wild and remote area, so incredibly beautiful.
