This was taken at the 7000 foot level South West of Mount Lassen in North Eastern CA in August of 2007; I wanted to try something a bit different and my love for “The Blues” just took over. I love the different layers you can see from up that high. And believe me being up there is a “natural high”!

From a pack trip with my mom and our two llamas Diamond and Carmella. Diamond is “mine” (although I can’t bring her to school with me so mostly my mom works with her) and is a trooper when the going gets rough. /
Pendle Witch Country, in the Lancashire Pennines, is an area lying between (but also including) the north western edge of Bronte Country and the Ribble Valley, to the north and north east of which are Bowland, and the south western Yorkshire Dales respectively. The area is dominated by the dark brooding mass of Pendle Hill (shown above) and made famous (nay infamous) for its grim and fiendish association with the “Witches of Pendle”...

Utah – USA tour 2008 Rich colours can be seen among the varied hoodoos, walls, and fins, the textures and formations were incredible. / I enjoyed the most amazing hike down to the bottom, the vista was so beautiful with remnants of snow contrasting against the vibrant colours. Bryce Canyon is not a “real” canyon. It is not carved by flowing water. Water is the active ingredient here, but in the form of “frost-wedging” and chemical weathering. For 200 days a year the temperature goes above and below freezing every day. During the day, melt water seeps into fractures only to freeze at night, expanding by 9%. Now as ice, it exerts a tremendous force (2,000-20,000 pounds per square inch). Over time this “frost-wedging” shatters and pries rock apart. In addition, rain water, which is naturally acidic, slowly dissolves the limestone, rounding off edges and washing away debris. Well worth a visit, stunningly beautiful :)) / WARNING / ©2008 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.
All men dream but not equally… Those who dream by night… in the dusty recesses of their minds… wake in the day to find that it was vanity… but the dreamers of the day… are dangerous men… for they may act their dream with open eyes… to make it possible…. T.E. Lawrence
Friendly little guy in Bryce Canyon , Utah USA.
The early morning sun and fog move on and around El Capitan.
This was my final glance from the rim on the South side. From this moment forward I spent 8 hard days backpacking through the Grand Canyon. It was a magical and mind-clearing event. Yes, I packpacked with camera and heavy tripod. NO FILM to carry this time!!!
Keep close to Nature’s heart, yourself… and break clear away, once in a while… and climb a mountain… or spend a week in the woods… Wash your spirit clean…. John Muir Potem Falls in Shasta County, Northern California…. this waterfall plunges 69 feet off of a cliff, into a Pit River Arm of Lake Shasta….
‘Oheo Gulch, on Maui, is the place I go and camp in my tent, when the congestion of modern-day life gets me down. ‘Oheo is spiritual, full of life, and will energize one’s soul. I made this image in near darkness, after all the tourists had gone home. I layered 5 long exposures—from about 4 seconds to a minute, or more. The place is difficult to capture by camera, but I think I have come close on this one. A large canvas of ‘Oheo Twilight hangs in my own home.
Haleakala Volcano crater is dormant now, thank goodness. I live on the side of that mountain, 15 miles from the last eruption. If Haleakala ever erupts again, there really is no place to run and hide, and so I suppose all of us on Maui will start swimming towards Japan. Within the arid crater, there is 100 square miles of lava and cinder. Dry and cruchy, like Grapenut Cereal. However there is one small corner of the crater which captures the cloud moister. In fact this is a tiny rain forest ecosystem. This place is called Paliku, “the Stand Cliff”.
Deep in the thickness of Maui, there are massive bamboo forests. So dense, and quiet are these forests, that you can hear your heart beat. It is dark, and wet, usually, within the bamboo forest of Kipahulu. This forest is protected within Haleakala National Park. Patterns are everywhere. Colors are mostly green, but there are those shoots that capture one’s eye. The bamboos forests are magical places.
This was the moment I was hoping for after eleven very strenuous miles on a muddy, narrow trail. We photographers go fishing every day, mostly we get nibbles, but sometimes we land a whopper. I am so proud of this image because I went out to shoot this scene very intentionally. It was very hard work, and this will pay off. The Na Pali Trail winds along the steep and rugged coastline of Kauai’s North shore, and ends in the legendary Kalalau Valley—the place is nearly mythical in its beauty.
Starting a 26-mile day hike, this scene emerged from our rainy, pre-dawn start. Preceding this scenic moment was Morning of Feeling

Sedona, Az. This is one of many beautiful views from Airport Loop Trail. Sedona has over a hundred trails that range from very easy to very hard. This was a moderate trail that was a great scenic hike as it circles the mesa and gives you open views. We have several places we like to walk or hike on the weekends. This particular refuge is home to a family of bobcats. This young male came sauntering down the path towards us without any concern. We moved out of his path and he continued on without stopping. San Joaquin Wildlife Refuge, Irvine, CA, USA Taken with a Canon PowerShot SX10 IS.
