The Trossachs National Park lies just North of Stirling and is the Gateway to the Scottish Highlands. I spotted the light on the hillside as I was out for a drive.
This shot was taken while traveling through the Scottish Highlands, I loved the “wee bridge” and how insignificant it seems against the impressive terrain. The moody clouds also add to the scene and the feeling that this truly is a magic place.
A pretty photo of Loch Cluanie on the West of Scotland. Loch Cluanie (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Cluanaidh) is a loch in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland. It is a reservoir, contained behind the Cluanie dam, constructed by Mitchell Construction and completed in 1957 as part of the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board’s Glenmoriston project to generate hydroelectricity.

I was waxing sentimental today about my trip over a year ago to the Highlands of Scotland that included a visit to picturesque Skye. The Isle of Skye is a hauntingly beautiful land the likes of which I’ve never seen before or since. If there’s one place I’ve traveled to that I’m bound to return, it’s this gorgeous place. This photo was my first ever attempt at a panorama. The land in this picture is known as the Quiraing, It’s formed as a result of landslipping, that is, whole series of the earth falling away from each other at different rates, at least my understanding of it. The phenomena creates an amazing view does it not? I would later see scenes from this same vantage point in the motion picture, Stardust (an awesome story by Neil Gaiman worth reading and watching).
.......A first watercolor painting on hot pressed paper 12”x18” of Loch Lomond in the Highlands of Scotland….. .... Will ye go lassie go ...

The snow covered Grampian Mountain range seen looking over the River Tay near the Village of Aberfeldy in the Breadalbane region of Highland Perthshire (Breadalbane means “Highland Scotland” in Gaelic). This Robin stalked me for about an hour the other day, wouldn’t let me take my shots without flying onto my tripod, my feet, pecked at my shoes and eventually landed on my lens….so eventually I took it’s pic and that seemed to keep it happy! Taken at Rogie Falls, no post processing.

Taken at the Highland Wildlife Park in Aviemore. The animals were few and far between so I resorted to pics of trees. Taken using a Canon 30d
