  • Lochan na h-Achlaise is a loch on Rannoch Moor in the Scottish Highlands. It’s a fantastically atmospheric place, even on a bright summer’s day, but never more so than on a chill autumn night when the conditions are just right for an amazing sunset.

  • Historic Australian Homestead

  • A late evening shot of Loch Etive in the Highlands of Scotland. This photograph was published in the 18 October 2008 edition of “Amateur Photographer” magazine.

  • Sunset on the Moray Firth coast / Ardesier / Scotland

  • A beautiful fishing village on a spur of a land projecting into Loch Broom, making a perfect harbour, Ullapool attracts more tourists than fishing boats these days.

  • Isle of Lewis / Scotland

  • This is Meat Cove, Nova Scotia. It’s a rural fishing village at the Northern most point of Cape Breton Island with a population of less than 100. According to Wiki, The name Meat Cove, came from the smell of cooking meat that sailors could catch down wind as they approached the cove from many miles away. The cove was a place to lay away and hunt and get fresh water before sailing on. I took this image many years ago, but it is still a favorite for me.

  • Cap Rouge is in Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia Canada. Taken a little before sunset as the weather was turning into a rainy evening. HDR of 6 images with tweeks in PS Elements 7

  • sundown over a frosty glen affric /

  • Commended Hawkesbury District Agricultural Association Show, May 2009 On the 6th of January 2009, the skies above the South Coast of NSW Australia were streaked with smoke. In the Moreton National Park, between the coastal town of Nowra and the highlands village of Bundanoon, a fire had been burning for several days. Being in an inaccessible area, it posed no threat to property. Wildlife, however, would be suffering the consequences of almost one thousand hectares of natural bushland destroyed. This picture was taken on Gerroa Beach, just North of Nowra, a moment after the sun had set. Technical stuff: Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens, hand held 97mm. Aperture priority, 1/20 sec f22, ISO 200, Pattern metering, Auto Exp & WB.

  • Mist envelopes the landscape, as if in a dream, and the sun blows a kiss before she retires for the night. Shot on a Canon EOS 20D. Tripod, f11, 1/4sec, auto wb. iso 100, RAW file processed in PS CS3. • Tonights sunset. The field in the foreground will be a mass of yellow flowers soon so I will be back!!

  • Cropped my other picture and took it back into Tiffin. I added a soft filter, saturate midtone filter and a warm soft filter. Had fun playing about and quite like the result.

  • A wintery sunset at Loch More in the beautiful scottish Highlands. Featured in Highland & Island Photographers

  • Sunset on Kintyre shores, near Tarbert, Kintyre, Scotland Featured in Northern Landscapes / Featured at Sensational Sun

  • Looking towards Ullapool and into the setting sun.

  • This sunset was shot in the Island town of Uig on Skye, in the NW of Scotland. / I took it in the days when cokin filters were all the rage, especially tobacco graduated filters, like this one. / Shot on Ektachrome Slide film with a Minolta 5xi. This image was selected as the ‘opening shot’ for a weekly magazine we have here in the UK called amateur photographer, and it earned me a reproduction fee of £100. Considering it was shot in february 1997, that was a tidy some. / AP is still going strong though sadly they dont have an opening shot feature on the first page any more…. Uig Harbour, Isle of Skye, Scottish Highlands. / Minolta 5xi. / Ektachrome 100. / CS3 to complete.

  • Sunset across Kinloch Rannoch , Scotland. The water was beautifully calm and we had drama in the sky….just could have wished for a bit more colour but the sun sank behind a cloud bank and that was that !

  • ....or , if your a Monty Python fan , castle ARRRHHGG G g g g :-) Castle Stalker off the West Coast of Scotland , between Oban and Glencoe. stood in freezing water up to my knees to get this shot…..uckily I had a bit of company from my fellow Togs shouting out Monty Python quotes at eachother :) After dark it was back off to Glencoe and a nice hot dinner in the Clachaig Inn and a warm by the log fire. Sorted :) canon 400D sigma 10-20mm iso 100 raw
