Caught this with my zoom. Noticed nature intertwined with man made landscape…parallel electricity wires. The fog helped to hide all other elements in the landscape. A few seconds later this fleeting moment was lost as the magpie took flight. This one I’ve intentionally washed out to highlight the eyes and nose. I did a bit of digital cleaning to make the impact a bit more. The cat’s name is Giblet and he’s a real suckie.
The 3rd and final high-key cat experiment.

A snowy scene at Poundbury, Dorset, where children building a snowman can just be seen between the almost-bare trees. I gave this image a high key look as I wanted to contrast the reddish leaves with the white of the snow. The snow clinging to the trunks also helps to give the impression of a pen-and-ink drawing. Was bored this morning but haven’t got time to get the camera out, so decided to have a go at some Hi-key work on an old portrait of Milo. Luckily I had kept the original RAW file. I’ve not really tried a high-key colour portrait before, so its a bit hit and miss… Nikon D300, 17-55 2.8 lens, natural light. Processed in Adobe CS3
