Caught this with my zoom. Noticed nature intertwined with man made landscape…parallel electricity wires. The fog helped to hide all other elements in the landscape. A few seconds later this fleeting moment was lost as the magpie took flight. Photo Taken: 21-Apr-2007 / Time: Early Morning / Conditions: Fog lifting / / / / / / / / / Some other minimalist art: / / / / / / /

A splash frozen in time. A cherry dropped into a glass of water breaks an infra red beam, triggering a high speed flash. An exposure time of 1/30,000s captures every detail. This is a limited edition print from my Fleeting Glimpse gallery collection, which is why it’s only available as a card here. Please have a look at my website if you’re interested in buying a print!
HDR image of a Steinway Piano at a friends’ home. She’s quite an accomplished artist herself, she painted the images behind the piano in Tuscany Italy. I’m looking for a good title for this image, this piano hasn’t been played in years. If you can think of a title that jumps out at you, I’d appreciate you posting it for me. Thanks. In July 2007 I did my first ever snow shoe walk from Falls Creek out past Pretty Valley to Tawonga Huts and the Jaithmathang’s then over Mt Fainter and down to Bogong Village. The downhills aren’t as fun as my crossies but the uphill and flats are a dream much easier manoeuvrability for photography too. Great trip had some good weather (the following day was a whiteout). Love the way f22 on my fisheye lens creates this sunburst effect, doesn’t work very well with a dark foreground but with this highly reflective snow it’s a winner. Just after I completed this trip I got a phone call from someone who had heard about an exhibition I did earlier in the year and who had specifically wanted a picture of the Victorian Alps, they ended up buying a 12”x30” framed print of this one. To check out other mountain photographs see my Mountains gallery. 10% of all profits go to the Wilderness Society
These three images were shot on transparency film and the transparencies were manipulated further using a Daylab printer and Polaroid pull apart film where the film is pulled apart before a positive can be processed. The dyes remaining on the Polaroid film were then transferred by rolling onto blotting paper. This is a very unique technique as you will never be able to reproduce the same image twice. There will always be a different amount of dye remaining on the film each time you do it making each image different from the last. They are presented here as a series. More works created using this technique can be found here
Please see here for more details Excuse the size, its really rather epic!
800 views. This is Port Willunga Jetty in mono. Taken at Port Willunga, South Australia, Australia at sunset. I was going for a high key type image. This was taken on a tripod, no flash, f25, ISO 200, 1.3 sec exposure with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D. I was so fortunate to sell, on redbubble, a large mounted print of this work, with the white border and artist’s details, to a good friend, Nathan. Thank you so much.

...Child on a ride at the park laughing 22×30 …work was done on Coquille paper…it has a stiple surface and it is my paper of choice usually..Helps me get the soft effect I want.. I like to capture all of my subject in different ways..To be able to see a part of that person and who they are.. I also like to capture movement to bring it to life. I .used watercolor pencils … they allow me to use water where I want it. The child is about four years old. I “Featured ” in / Capturing Emotion / Childhood / 1 on 1 Fine Art of Portraiture and became a featured member / First Things / Good News Group / Dimentions / Works on Paper / Pets and People / Live, Love Dream / Feature Faturnity / This was a commissioned portrait….This was a fun piece and she was so cute and just a little monkey…I didn’t want to give her back to her parents..I was really happy with my composition and is one of my favourit works….I use this image as my signature piece on my cards because I do a lot of commissioned portraits of children and in my personal work as well. The colors I use in my work are also a type of signature because it is part of my style..people recognize my work this way.
Portrait, BW photography, Ilford developing paper, I use this paper because it gives me nice tones and contrast., Young girl about 12 years old is my daughter Tanya…I’ve used her as a model many times and she loves the camera. She is actually lieing down on white linen and I spread her wet hair in different angles to make it appear like it is blowing….This is actually a dream I have had many times ….I can feel the wind blowing my hair around and hear the wind in my ears…strange!! / “Dreaming” has featured in “Who needs color for beauty”, and “High Key” / Best of BW challenge
This shot was taken on my visit to London in March 2009. It was a overcast day which made for better photos. i waited for the cars to spin round far enough for me to take this shot and to get a symmetrical composition. i have great feedback from this photo and i hope you all will enjoy it as much as i enjoyed taking it. Thanks for looking, / Chris

9×12 pastel on Sennellier la carte paper Since I did a Guinevere Empress, I had to of course do a Morgan Le Fay High Priestess! / Morgan Le Fay is a very popular figure today, and yet she is rather obscure in Literature. Originally written about as a great healer and shamaness. In later literature she became a rather wicked enchantress who of course had a hand in the destruction of Camelot. / She is the half-sister of King Arthur, and thought to be half faery. Although many are unsure if the Fay in her names actually means Faery or comes from the Latin Fata (which means fate). / She is also guessed to have evolved from the earlier Morrigan triple goddess. This is what gives her her “dark goddess” connection. Morgan Le Fay was the High Priestess of the mystical island of Avalon. Avalon represents the Underworld, or Otherworld. The dark goddess often rules over the Otherworld, for it represents our sub-conscious mind. It is the place we ignore, but is always there with us. It is like our shadow-self. When we journey beyond the veil into the darkness, we bring back great wisdom and evolve into greater spiritual beings more aware of our true nature. / This was the job of the high priestess in ancient times. She journeyed to the Otherworld and came back with the messages for the people from the Goddess. The High Priestess represents our Intuition and our ability to journey into the realm of the Otherworld to bring back “the Law”, or the wisdom of our shadow-self. / The apple is a stong symbol of Avalon. Often the pomegrante is pictured on High Priestess cards, and the apple holds the same symbolism here. It is the mystical fruit of the Otherworld that we seek in order to gain wisdom. / Morgan Le Fay also has a strong connection to water, as water also represents the feminine consciousness and the sub-conscious realm.
