A lone pelican standing in the shallow waters north of the Kingscote Pier. He was a good guy, he walked right up to me … within 10metres. Both of us enjoyed our time, but I really enjoyed capturing these photographs! Yes, this has been manipulated to reveal the details of the beak and blow-out the background. Model is Chelsea Rose / Makeup and Hair by Loran Bean / Assistant: Adam People seem to like when I say how I get my shots, so I will keep up with it! We went to the roof of a shopping centre carpark to shoot this series. It was WHITE, it was HOT, it was windy and it was…EXTREMELY HOT! We now all look like beetroots, we’re so red. I made the mistake of lying down on the HOT CONCRETE for about 10 mins for a series of shots. :( But it was worth it! All lighting is natural, no reflectors were used. This shot was one of the last in the day. ‘Chelsea, get in the trolly!’ I make my models do very uncomfortable things sometimes. What’s the worst thing you have made someone do in order to get the best photo? I want to hear your stories :D And as always, comments are always appreciated. xo / Rose

It’s been weeks and weeks since I put up any new work… been busy with one thing and another… though that may seem like a poor excuse for not feeding the bubble with new stuff…. anyhow….I thought I’d go back to a medium that I truly love… Infrared film… Kodak of course…. not that they make the damned stuff any more which is heartbreaking to true lover of the medium like myself… I only have three rolls left in the whole world… don’t know what I’m going to do for kicks when I use them…. sigh…. anyway…. a new series of works …. the / Silo’s in Newtown. This is a very old building and once was a real silo… now it’s been converted to very very expensive chi chi apartments… / . / and I do mean expensive…. but the thing is that the form of the building remains true…. how do you fight such strong lines? They dominate the line of the suburb like nothing else and over the years I’ve wasted my fair share of film on them…. this image and the ones that follow are as small part of that repotire and I do really really hope you enjoy them…. the Silo Series…..
