  • A Thought, A Dream
    by Alex Worsley

    US$3.42–US$91.20

In a place as surreal as this, its hard not to day dream. This was taken at an ancient, monastery which was destroyed by Henry the eighth once upon a time. Sort of represents what i was feeling at this time, not this exact moment but this part of my life. Stopping for a second, trying to figure out where wanted to go, how i would get there. Taking a brief moment to reflect.

  • Lego recreation of Henri Cartier-Bresson’s 1932 photograph “Behind the Gare Saint Lazare”

  • Hot Hotrod
    by Phil Rowe

    US$3.42–US$91.20

  • The Henry Ross Lookout is on the Kennedy Highway (part of the Savannah Way), which cuts its way up the Macalister Range above Smithfield, a township in the Northern Beaches stretch north of Cairns, to Kuranda at the top of the range. The Kennedy Highway affords spectacular views of the low lying areas between the range and the ocean, and also takes one through lush rainforest areas. I took this exposure on a beautiful clear day. If you would like a High Definition wallpaper of this image, I have put a wallpaper version over at flickr:

  • FEATURED! JUNE 08 “I am ready for whatever’s coming. I expect nothing but to be let down or turned away. I am alone. The shit hurts sometimes, but I realize what I am, what I have become. The alien man waved his arms up and down and noticed that he couldn’t wave in the right language so he stopped.” Henry Rollins

  • Echos From The Abbey
    by Alex Worsley

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Fountains Abbey was founded by Benedictine monks in 1132 and taken over by the Cistercians three years later. By the mid-12th century it was the richest abbey in Britain. The Abbey fell into ruins during the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 16th century. Today you can still almost hear them…

  • The empty room
    by Anne Staub

    US$4.84–US$129.20

F4 – 0.5 sec – ISO 400 - Shot at Hurst Castle – Hurst Castle is one of Henry VIII’s Device Forts built at the end of a long shingle spit at the west end of the Solent to guard the approaches to Portsmouth. Hurst Castle was sited at the narrow entrance to the Solent where the ebb and flow of the tides creates strong currents, putting would-be invaders at its mercy. Charles I was imprisoned here in 1648 before being taken to London to his trial and execution. It was given extensive new wing batteries after the 1859 Royal Commission report, and the modifications were completed in 1873. During World War II, Hurst was manned with coastal gun batteries and searchlights. The castle is now owned by English Heritage and is open to the public. The upcoming 51st Grenfell Henry Lawson Festival of Arts will be held Thursday 5th June to Monday 9th June, 2008. Some good news on a personal level is that my image Dog Rocks has been judged the Best Photograph Of The Exhibition in the photography competition. The award to be presented is a bronze statuette which has been sculptured by Michael Mandelc, and it depicts Henry Lawson’s “The Drover’s Wife”. Dog Rocks also won the Open Colour section of the competition. I’ve been kindly invited by Tim Wood, coordinator of the photography competition, to attend the Awards Dinner at Grenfell on Saturday 7 June, 2008 6:30PM to receive the award. There is a distinct connection with Redbubble regarding this achievement. Hop Dac, RB staff member, posted a topic in the main forum informing members of this competition. It was there I became aware of the competition, and I thank Hop for doing so. Upon deciding to enter, I ordered six Redbubble matted prints specifically for the competition. I wrote a journal regarding the quality of the matted prints on April 19, 2008 and it can be found here. I’m pleased to say that Redbubble and its community have played a significant role regarding this achievement and I highly value the continued encouragement given by Peter Styles, Redbubble staff and Redbubble members. The achievement is dedicated to my mate Joe Mortelliti, for it was because of him that Dog Rocks was photographed on August 25, 2007. Special thanks to my family for their continued support. Folks, enjoy your creative pursuits here at Redbubble and beyond. Cheers, / Darren. • The Yard Islands
    by maxy

    US$3.42–US$91.20

These islands are dangerous for most boats – okay for canoes or kayaks, but these islands were, I believe, featured in “On Golden Pond” where Henry crashed his boat. Dangerous for sure! But worth it… These islands are off the Yard islands on Squam Lake, NH.

  • Oil on Canvas, Detail of larger portrait portrait / American Poet 1807 – 1882. / A man of great ferocious tempo and histories. Still one of the most popular of our poets: Hiawatha, The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere, etc. / Henry Longfellow lived almost fifty years of his life while Queen Victoria ruled Britain from 1837 – 1901. There may have been some concentrated American effort to stand apart by lauding our pioneers and savage North America, and it sure wasn’t thwarted by being politically correct. Imagine while high tea was being mimicked on Park Avenue, this famous yankee poet had the courage to come up with the swashbuckling but doomed fantasy (loosely based on history c.1400) that started on the shores of Gitche Gumee, progressed to Daughter of the Moon Nokomis and right up and into the shining Big Sea Water! It was an instant & roaring success. Enough feathers were ruffled to make parodies galore, but it’s 125 years later and I’m not the only one who still remembers Longfellow’s words and wants a feather in my braid. The story teller poets were marvelous conjurers, Longfellow one of the best. / I met Nokomis when I was about seven years old and longed to make that birch bark canoe, moonlight, and woody adventureland my own. And Longfellow’s incredible epic of courage, mysticism, language, wildlife, and natives on these shores remain about one of the greatest tributes to Indian nations ever composed by anybody. Now also available on RedBubble T Shirts! Full selection of color, great shirts. / Email: hawk@hawksperch.com / for details and price on the original oil painting. / Website: THE HAWKS PERCH, www.hawksperch
