Hendricks Head Lighthouse, on Sheepscot Bay, is seen here in the evening light of a setting sun from one of the tidal islands in Cozy Harbor, Southport Island, Maine. Sea smoke, low-lying fog, is rolling up the far side of the Bay, melding with the cloud cover. Windless, lapping water alone breaks the silence.

The only way to see or to photograph Hendricks Head Light is from the water, but the result is well worth the effort.
I’ve often tried to photo Hendricks Head from land but have found it impossible to do then one day we happened by on an almost perfect photographic day and got this shot.
