  • This is 1 in a series of 12 from a collection of works I’m callin ” Weekend at Grandma’s ” The basic theme being some mischievous boys doing things from sneaking around to playing make believe , some being cute , some a lil dark ( we all know how lil boys can be ) . I’ll also add that I tried my best to keep the original designin its most basic pencil form , only adding in some effects and back grounds… I hope it comes off the way I hope it will . Santa’s Twisted Lil Helper … boys will be boys , and Lil Norman is no exception :)

  • I don’t know if this is factual, fictional, or a bit of each, but the most commonly circulated story about how the ladybug got its name is quite interesting. According to that account, quite a long time ago in Europe, a small farming village was experiencing unprecedented problems with insects that kept devouring the crops. Faced with certain ruin, the peasants fell to their knees and began to beg the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary to send help in their calamity. Their simple faith was soon rewarded. The farmers began to notice a change in the crops. The dying foliage started to revitalize and greenness once again appeared on the landscape. Something was definitely reversing the devastation. As they looked closer, the farmers noticed small red bugs with black dots festooning their tiny concave, shell-like, bodies. Like soldiers called in to battle, they were eating the culprits—destructive aphids. “Our Lady’s bugs, Our Lady’s beetles,” the grateful villagers proclaimed. Eventually, as the small insects became a familiar part of their lives, the people shortened their name to ladybugs, the term by which they are still known today and perhaps one of the reasons why they are so well-loved. Whatever the case, ladybugs are the allies of farmers; they are tiny soldiers that patrol the fields making sure there will be food on the table for everyone.

  • JOHN MY SON, said he would like one, so here you are

  • I thought this would be a nice card to illustrate the old cliche, “A woman’s work is never done,” and to honor women everywhere who work hard at home, on the job, within the family circle, in the community, in the church, in public service. This energetic little Eastern bluebird female exemplifies an honorable work ethic in her diligence at nest-building. (Note the bedraggled look of poor little Mama’s feathers; temperatures were in the 90s and she was really feeling the heat and humidity! Just about the same concept as a housewife sweating over the stove or the ironing board!)

  • The philosophers of Ancient Greece also drew upon the concept of Spiritual helpers. Plato’s Symposium described them as envoys and interpreters, who not only carried prayers up to heaven, but also descended with commandments and responses from the gods. This small painting is dedicated to Jennyfnf – With Love And Healing From Everyone On Red Bubble Music – Angel Meditation / Especially For You Jenny

  • This all started because Maxoperandi sent me a bubblemail asking how I put the flag counter in my redbubble homepage. I tried to send them a message on how to do it but the code made it difficult and it kept messing up. I then thought I would write it in a word processor and that would make it easier…then I thought to myself that it’d be nice to do it for everybody else who may want a flag counter on their redbubble…so here you go! I hope you all appreciate this and that it’s a help to you. you may want to click the image for a larger view Go to my profile to see the final product (yours wont look exactly the same, and will start out with only one flag…that of your own country). This is the one I just created with the directions in the image:
