“Let’s stick with cutesy…” is hardly what R.K. told me when I asked her to help remake this police lineup painting. (click me for police lineup girl) “Hello Trouble!” is actually what came outta her mouth during our shoot while she even played the classic by Buck Owens for me in the background. Her rad husband did the background too! I know I’m not even close to 6 feet tall…& until she believed in this, I didn’t have a vixenesque shot in my portfolio. Nobody would take this project on with me until Riley Kern. And now it’s the one shot constantly asked for in prints, or saught after for permission to use. Not only that, but she’s taken my motto, my tattoo – the very attitude that get’s me through many hard days & made a signature shot outta it for me. It’s the one shot I felt comfortable naming “Hello Trouble” Where are my manners!? Let me introduce you to Riley… She’s the honey bee of western pin ups. Her attention to the style surpasses any I’ve ever seen. She pays homage to many classic western pin ups, including Petty’s little stand up base girl…which was mimicked to near perfection. (click me to see Riley Kern) Luckily for all of us she’s decided to pick up the camera herself & get learntt on the stuff!....Not so lucky however, for many photographers out there. So while she plucks out her pretty pictures for ya, she’s drowning out the mediocre guys for us too.

I generally am not a horse fan. Or a country girl. (Even though / I come from a long line of knife wielding half crazed Texas / Indians..) But I couldn’t help myself when I saw these two today. The kitty put its nose right up to the horse’s..I couldn’t believe it..

Pastel on paper from “The White Album” series, inspired by the Beatles tune of the same name. The series is also inspired by the hallmarks of adolescence, such as chatting with friends. The advent of cell phones hasn’t changed the way teens communicate all that much.

The woks exhibited represent the linkup of two artists, a photographer and a sculptor. Such an attempt to blend two spheres of art is really innovative and a bit unexpected. There had been few who were successful in such an attempt. Both authors, blending their art by the means of the photo art, are the winners. Sculpture, as such, is rather a static art, sometimes “performing” in a specific, sometimes artificial, environment. However, the means of the plastic photography, seemingly, make the sculptures movable, dynamic; they make you feel the sculptures are moving. They become alive, start moving and react both to the environment and the views captured by the photographer. I would like the viewers also note the colour solutions of the photos, aimed at the strengthening of the overall impression of the imagery. The original blend and overlapping of two arts let see the impressive plastic metaphors, giving birth to various associations. /

/ MY GALLERY Mouse on yellow leaf. He might be cute but he is a wild mouse. I got a few shot of him before he decided to run back to nature. I read one book about animals one day and I found out that this little fellow is a little harvest mouse (micromys minutus). He is quite rare in the islands in Estonia. (Picture is taken in Valjala Saaremaa Estonia)(harvest mouse, pisihiir, micromys minutus)

Is she saying hello or saying goodbye? This gorgeous blue eyed beauty has a well-crafted paper aeroplane circling her. Whether it’s about to land or about to take-off is anyone’s guess. This piece reminds me of all those teary airport hellos and farewells of my 20s! ..................♥ the fine print ♥…...............
