Has anyone out there had one of those days when EVERYTHING goes right? I had one today :D I took my wife to Kielder Water for a day out and we found ourselves at the Bird of Prey Centre. I love BoP so I really wanted to get some shots with my 70-300mm lens. I was stunned at the variety of birds on display. I took over 150 shots. Most of which were excellent. Even though I was shooting with a tele-lens hand-held for most of the time there, my shots came out pin sharp and needed very little editing once I got home. I can honestly say that I had one of my most productive shooting days today. Everything went right. I captured some of my very best shots today. I am currently uploading them so see what you think.

  • A shot of Jake taken a week after he was born. We’d been through the turmoil of having to see him placed in the special care unit with electrodes attached to his head and a drip in his arm and the photo here was taken just after all those things were finally taken off him. We still had a few more days in hospital for tests but it was just such a relief to finally be able to hold him without all the cords and wires – to hold our son just as any parent should be able to. The gift of a precious life.

  • Handheld 2 sec shot of pool tile work…believe it or not

Lessons Learned from a Tree Stand…

A devotional I recently wrote for the book God Stories 4 – to be published in early winter, 2008. A look at being securely held, through the eyes of a bowhunter.

Reason I ask is I’d like to get an exhibition of all the great Killeroo art I’ve received (and a couple I’ve produced even!) at a small gallery somewhere. Probably between 20-30 pieces of art. Basically just wondering if anyone has any experience in being part of or organising an exhibition and if they had any advice, tips or people I should speak to for more info. thanks folks :)

So hear the plea I offer up / To cloud and sky above / As I kneel on Mother Earth / As gentle as a dove

  • Peace be still
    by Jan Stead JEMproductions

Peace be still and know that I am God…..

So often these words of reassurance, from God himself, come to me, often in times of trouble, distress and worry, but also when I cannot sleep. And it is then that I am eased into letting go to truly Rest in Him. Tonight I woke restless with much on my mind ~ our imminent move being at the centre of my thoughts ~ and a throbbing headache. So I rose, took some paracetamol and after browsing through Red Bubble, these words began and thus I wrote. Another gift. More reassurance. / And PEACE!

  • This was just an idea i had, ya know when you get that picture taking urge? My boyfriend was kind enough to help out! x

  • Captured through a gallery window on an upper floor of the Tate Modern Art Gallery. Because of the low light levels I braced the camera lens against the window and shot at 2.5 sec exposure at 400 ISO F16. Hand held. I have boosted the contrast to bring out the reflections and the detail.

  • God is always holding me, molding me.

  • This was taken on Saturday, October 31st 2009 in Windsor, CT at the Northwest Park, by the marsh. I love the way that the little tree stayed rooted, even though the big tree that was standing beside it fell into the marsh.. What an amazing story it tells.
