  • Yep, says it all, especially in this day and age. It seems our rights and liberties are under attack….many photographers these days face stiff questioning from authorities whom have actually no right to do so, in asking us what it is we are photographing, for whom, and why we are. We are stopped, looked at, observed, harassed, detained, questioned, arrested, cited for laws which don’t exist, when all we want to do is capture something we see beautiful. All because many of us are thought to be terrorists….now you can show em exactly what ya think with this shirt!

  • Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain.

  • I made a new little friend for my crane in Born from the Hand. This was folded with a 6×6mm piece of paper, with tweezers and pins, resulting in a crane with wings 2.5mm long. As I hold my creation, I feel like a God; I am the creator; I’ve created a life form so sharp and vulnerable in comparison to my hand. We can only understand size, fragility and significance when we compare two things. When we think, for example, how big the world is, we’re like tiny specks of sand, or even atoms, to the eyes of a God holding the earth in his palm. It took 30 shots before getting one which was somewhat satisfying. • The writing is on the wall – if you can see it, you can’t read it. I passed this sculpture so many times. You have to. It is made of stainless steel and placed in one of the busiest Wellington streets, in the perfect position to capture the colorful lights of the city after daylight, the nightglow of the capital. The ‘Invisible City’, as it’s called, is the gigantic panel of Braille text that highlights the communication gap between those who can’t see and the rest of us. The post is designed to remember all the folks, my countrymen and yours, the often invisible part of society, all those who finish schools, who work, play music, do sports, pay taxes, have and raise children, to the benefit of us all.

  • A folding fan coming out of a gun. / This idea came about when i was thinking of those pop guns clowns often have. I have wanted to do a design that involved the Japanese folding fans for quite some time. The juxtaposition of two so very different items that are both hand held makes for an interesting design.

  • Submerged in the descending crash of condemnation, I felt the bright, red, fiery, blinding light of anger well up—unstoppable. I refuse to stop breathing. I reach out to God for strength to swim. Am I in a garden pool, or a tidal wave? Does it matter? I still am drowning. Self-doubt holds my head under water. Is is ego, self-preservation or childish reaction that causes me to want to fight? The stone statue face of judgment twists in profile and shouts, “Whatever. Just get over it. Stop whining.” / Still, I see through layers of water above me that the sunlight is streaming. There is more. There is a solution. I do not have to drown. If only I could be patient. / So I paint. It seems to give the waiting a purpose. And after awhile I am no longer waiting. I am there. And I am swimming. / Acrylic on masonite, 24”x34”

  • Taken at Bungay Antique street fayer on 12.7.09 / / In the stress of this world it can so easily done, trying to be everything and do everything This is a wonderful annual street fayer filled with stalls holding everything imaginable from old books, jewllery, fur coats and so many things from the past. / I noticed these marbles sitting on a stall, i love old marbles and have a small pot of them. I spent many a childhood day playing them out in the street on a small patch of grass come dirt with the other kids from the street, trying to win the best marble.
