  • 2008. Age 21 Drawn with blue biro pen only. This cute little fella is called a ‘Plar’. He’s stuck up that tree! He even wore a winged-hat, but alas, he forgot he was scared of heights. Bless his little cottons. Usually Plars portray themselves elegantly, with a sense of pride and defiance despite their adorably big and alluring eyes. However, as this Plar shows, they are actually small and fragile little creatures who need our love just as much as we need theirs. Plar Poem: Plar – Beautifully Blue More Plar sketches Plar – Peek-a-Shroom Plar – A loving Gesture *Plar – A Proud Knight *

  • Cat’s are cute when they’re scared… edit I don’t think this one’s fitted for a V-neck… The template’s positioning is a bit weird because of it’s V-neck ofcourse.

  • A giraffe looking downwards (don’t they always??!). I was standing on the back of a utility. / / Taken with Canon 5D, 70-300mm lens @70mm, f4, ISO 100 1/320th sec. • This is a photo of a black bear cub from Yellowstone National Park. / He is quite literally ‘out on a limb’ :-). The cubs are so adventurous and playful, you can see there amazement at the world around them in every action they exhibit.

  • Plutarch a Greek scholar who lived in 46 C.E. wrote, Isis and Osiris, which is considered a main source about the very late myths about Isis. In it he writes of Isis: “she is both wise, and a lover of wisdom; as her name appears to denote that, more than any other, knowing and knowledge belong to her.” The shrine of Isis in Sais carried the inscription “I am all that hath been, and is, and shall be; and my veil no mortal has hitherto raised.” At Sais, however, the patron goddess of its Ancient Cult was Neith, many of whose traits had begun to be attributed to Isis during the Greek occupation. In The Golden Ass the Roman writer Apuleius later gives us his understanding of Isis in the second century. The following paragraph is particularly significant: “ You see me here, Lucius, in answer to your prayer. I am nature, the Universal Mother, Mistress of all the elements, primordial child of time, sovereign of all things Spiritual, Queen of the dead, Queen also of the immortals, the single manifestation of all gods and goddesses that are, my nod governs the shining heights of Heavens, the wholesome sea breezes. Though I am worshipped in many aspects, known by countless names … some know me as Juno, some as Bellona … the Egyptians who excel in Ancient learning and worship call me by my true name…Queen Isis. Painting using mixed media and gold leaf / 102 cm x 42cm Music – Across Egypt – by John Williams 16th December 2008

  • Model is Chelsea Rose / Makeup and Hair by Loran Bean / Assistant: Adam People seem to like when I say how I get my shots, so I will keep up with it! We went to the roof of a shopping centre carpark to shoot this series. It was WHITE, it was HOT, it was windy and it was…EXTREMELY HOT! We now all look like beetroots, we’re so red. I made the mistake of lying down on the HOT CONCRETE for about 10 mins for this shot. :( But it was worth it! I have been told it looks like she’s very high up. But she’s not really! All lighting is natural, no reflectors were used. And as always, comments are always appreciated. xo / Rose

  • My next mini photo series is from *Eagle Heights which is in Eynsford, Kent and that is between Dartford and Sevenoaks. I say mini photo series because there will only be about four photos to view which I am very pleased with. Eagle Heights is one of the UK’s largest bird of prey centres; currently they have a collection of approximately 150 raptors. This includes over 50 species, many of which are now breeding at the centre or can be seen flying in their daily demonstrations. As you can I have tweaked the shot slightly and I used Photoshop 7 for this. I have taken out any disturbing background and softened the edges. I hope you like the photo and thank you so much for viewing my work, please call back again soon. • My next shot from Eagle Heights which is in Eynsford, Kent between Dartford and Sevenoaks.* is of the beautiful Bald Eagle again. This one kept calling me while I was in front of it so I got right in his face and took the shot. I am very pleased with the result I have as his beak has turned out just as I wanted it to and the eyes this time slightly out of focus to bring the attention to his beak. I hope you like the photo and thank you so much for viewing my work, please call back again soon. • This is for a black and white challenge and you have seen the colour version so please don’t worry about commenting on this one – thank you Again from Eagle Heights which is in Eynsford, Kent between Dartford and Sevenoaks.* is of this beautiful eagle. We got to see the handlers taking her away so I didn’t get her name and I can only guess at a White Tailed Eagle or perhaps a Golden Eagle If anyone knows her bread please let me know, thank you. Tweaked in Photoshop 7 and turned into B&W I hope you like the photo and thank you so much for viewing my work, please call back again soon. / / NIKON D60 DSLR / F-stop f/8 / Exposure time 1/250 sec / ISO speed 140 / Manual Priority / Focal length 300 mm on a 70 – 300 mm Tamron lens All the materials contained may not be reproduced, copied, edited, published, transmitted or uploaded in any way without my permission.
