  • Honda fans eat your heart out! VTEC aka Variable Timing Electronic Control is a system developed by Honda to increase the volumetric efficiency of a four-stroke engine. When a predetermined RPM is reached, a solenoid is actuated which allows oil pressure to lock pins which binds the high RPM cam follower to the low rpm ones. The high-lift profile enables the valves to opens further and for a longer time, thus increase the volumetric efficiency of the engine.
