Punk culture emerged in United States and United Kingdom in the mid 1970s.They seek to shock by messages on their clothing or their hair styles ranging from skinheads to Mohican’s or otherwise known as Mohawks.Their clothing was often ripped and held together with safety pins .Sid Vicious the Sex Pistols bassist was said to be the first one to use safety pins and Johnny Rotten the first one to rip his clothes . Girls wore bin liners as dresses and razor blades and safety pins were used as jewelry .Tattoos ,piercings, chains and metal studs became increasingly common like this heavily studded jacket .
