Acrlic on stretched canvas. / Inspired by Psalm 96 11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; / let the sea resound, and all that is in it; 12 let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them. / Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy; 13 they will sing before the LORD, for he comes, / he comes to judge the earth. / He will judge the world in righteousness / and the peoples in his truth.

Church in Avranches, Normandy, France. Picture taken with Sony R1 which is ideal if you forgot your tripod. The camera can be placed on the ground in an angle and the top mounted LCD allows you to check the composition. Can’t beat that with a DSLR. Avranches is situated at the southern end of the Cotentin Peninsula on the E40 road connecting Saint-Lô with Brittany and on the rail line between Lison (linking to Caen) and Dol (linking to Rennes). The town was founded on high ground overlooking the dunes and coastal marshes along the bay forming the corner between the peninsulas of the Cotentin and Brittany. From Avranches, it is possible to see the Mont Saint Michel, which was founded by Saint Aubert, Bishop of Avranches in the 8th century. A museum houses the collection of manuscripts of Mont Saint Michel, deposited in the municipal archives during the French Revolution. It is one of the largest collections of medieval illuminated manuscripts in France, outside national and university libraries. Formerly dominated by the cathedral, where Henry II did penance, an open grassed area La Plate-Forme overlooking the bay towards Mont Saint Michel displays only a few remnants of the destroyed building. The major church Notre Dame des Champs was constructed in Gothic Revival style in the 19th century to restore the religious life of the town after the destruction of the cathedral. A smaller church Saint Gervais houses a treasury, best known for the purported skull of Saint Aubert complete with hole where the archangel Michael’s finger pierced it (probably a prehistoric trepanned skull). The botanical gardens were founded in the grounds of the former Franciscan convent in the late 18th century. The expansion and introduction of exotic species in the 19th century and the location of the gardens overlooking the bay made the gardens an important sight in the town. / / / / Have a look at my other photos. View from inside the Cocathedral St-Antoine-de-Padoue in Longueuil, Quebec built between 1884 and 1887. / This beautiful construction of gothic inspiration has been designed by two architects, Albert Mesnard and Henri-Maurice Perrault. There are two asymmetrical towers in front, a very rare occurrence in Canada, although there are a few in France. When time has come and death is near / They show their strength and hide their fear / They share a joke, then shed a tear / Last moments spent with those held dear / / As grasp released on life held tight / And darkness falls, as though the night / Then soon replaced by something bright / Freed soul now moves into the light / / As toward the light they do ascend / They understand, they comprehend / It’s just begun, it’s not the end / Forever does their life extend / / This fractal artwork was inspired one night while watching a show on the television called ‘Ghost Whisperer’, where a woman is able to communicate with earthbound souls and help them ‘cross over to the other side’. As is the case in many near death experiences, the folks that die for a few moments and then come back describe going towards a beautiful light. / / I am not really a very religious person, however, I do believe that there is something much greater than us all in the grand scheme of things in the universe. In physics, the law of conservation of energy states that the total amount of energy in an isolated system remains constant. A consequence of this law is that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but only changed in form. Seeing as how humans are basically a large network of electricity and magnetism (energy) housed within our bodies (matter), and given the physics law stated above, then this energy that makes us what we are can not die, but only change form. / / So what many may term as our souls (energy) must move on as another form of energy. So someone that dies for a moment and them makes it back saying that they see this light may not be as far-fetched as a lot of folks think… even from the scientific perspective. / / This fractal artwork was created in Apophysis, and is meant to conceptually portray what that light may look like as we move toward it after our physical demise, that portal where our life energy is converted into another form. The original is 3600 pixels square at 300 pixels per inch and took 51 hours and 22 minutes to render on a 3.2 Ghz PC with 4 GB of RAM. These technical details so you can appreciate how detailed the print is. / /

The holy city of Safed, perched on a mountain top in the upper Galilee, conjures many images to all lovers of the city. The romantic flavor of narrow cobblestone lanes and ancient synagogues fills one’s lungs with a new spirit. The rusty old houses with there domed roofs clearly identifies the city with the mysterious past of the Holy Land. The history of Safed, in real terms, dates back only five hundred years to the beginning of the 16th century. As if out of nowhere, Jews from near and far settled there – as if answering a divine call – and built the largest Jewish settlement in Palestine. Furthermore, great scholars and mystics opened yeshivos in Safed, being an added incentive to other young men of wisdom to settle there. In one sense, the last half of the 16th century was the pinnacle of Torah grandeur which the city experienced. The author of the Shulchan Aruch (Jewish Code of Laws), Rabbi Joseph Karo, sat at the head of the rabbinical court while compiling his compendium of Jewish Law. At the same time, another saintly man by the name of Rabbi Isaac Luria revealed the mystical side of the Torah, called Kabalah. Together these men and their disciples opened new pathways to the Torah which embedded an invisible holiness in the very rocks of the city. Today everyone who strolls through the city is caught off guard by the hidden spirit of Safed which vibrates full of life after so many generations. Not only newcomers are surprised, but even weathered old comers as well. Homage to Safed. A Visual collaboration between F. A. Moore / and myself for the group , Resurrection of the Exquisite Corpse _There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor. So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. / If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. verses . 40-44of Corinthians Chapter 15 An Explanation of how this is done a tough one for sure, this is what we had to do.
