  • On Angel's Wings
    by Joyce Dickens, IPA

    US$4.56–US$121.60

I had an opportunity that I clearly used to my advantage…...while up at Lake Nora over the weekend, a dragonfly in distress and nearly dead happened my way; he spent the good part of an hour letting me photograph him before he gathered up enough strength and then flew off, only to land about 10 feet from me, but out in the water…........I made a wish for him and I know his spirit is watching over all the others as they diligently go about their designated tasks…...I had a very good feeling though as if he was put right there in front of me for this reason…......I got quite a few shots of his entirety, but I enjoy this one more…........ / ______ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. Heaven’s Cry took 7 hours, which is about 3 hours longer than my average amount of time on a piece of work….the wings alone took 3 hours….pencil on bristol board, i am very happy with the results….

  • Solitude
    by TerriRiver

    US$31.35–US$167.20

The bridge reminds me of an emotion of solitude, which is not to be confused with loneliness. The former leads to an internal peace and being one with nature and oneself while the latter was a feeling of being forced to be alone, deprived of freedom and choice. I used to call this photo “Peaceful Bridge” until a young patient of mine (at the time she was nine years old) explored the difference between solitude and loneliness. When the image was presented to him as an illustration, he exclaimed, “Oh, solitude is peace, inner peace!” And the true title of the piece was born. • Spirit Portal
    by Rany Lutz

    US$4.28–US$114.00

This is actually a photo of the sky and an airplane contrail that is reflecting sunlight something like a rainbow. I increased the contrast with software to darken the contrail and concentrate the rainbow effect. There were no clouds! Shot with a telephoto. The framed area is all within the contrail. The blue strip is where the contrail was starting to break up.

  • Angel of The Heart
    by Helena Nelson-Reed

    US$17.81–US$95.00

Watercolor on watercolor board, original available. Angels! Pure and perfect, the luminous intermediaries between divine and earthly dimensions; recipients of and serving divine will. The spectrum of color in her wings represents a single, concentrated beam of white light entering a prism, and emerging from the opposite side in a rainbow of cascading colors. This metaphore demonstrates the way messenger angels receive direct transmissions of resplendent Truth, communicating this Light in myriad languages to all sentient beings. / / This angelic creature represents a gradual opening of one’s heart to the higher mysteries, flying beyond an existence consisting solely of temporal concerns. Nourish the inner self and soar the way of heart, combining intellect with wisdom and gentleness. Image and text copyright Helena Nelson – Reed. Please dont use without written permission

  • The doe took a little time off from busy eating for the photo opportunity, although she didn’t want to give up the tasty colorful leaf. By now everyone who has ever seen my work knows that I’m absolutely “addicted” to develop a deep relationship and establish an intimate communication with mule deer (we don’t have a lot of white-tailed deer around here). Everyday I go out there in the early mornings, hoping to have a close encounter! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada

  • Fallen Angel
    by amarica

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Isa 14:12: How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! / Isa 14:13: For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: / Isa 14:14: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 2Co 11:14: And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. / 2Co 11:15: Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Angel: a word signifying, both in the Hebrew and Greek, a “messenger,” and hence employed to denote any agent God sends forth to execute his purposes. It is used of an ordinary messenger (Job 1:14; 1Sa 11:3; Lu 7:24; 9:52), of prophets (Isa 42:19; Hag 1:13), of priests (Mal 2:7), and ministers of the New Testament (Re 1:20). It is also applied to such impersonal agents as the pestilence (2Sa / 24:16-17; 2Ki 19:35), the wind (Ps 104:4). But its distinctive application is to certain heavenly intelligences whom God employs in carrying on his government of the world. The name does not denote their nature but their office as messengers. The appearances to Abraham at Mamre (Ge 18:2,22. Comp. Ge 19:1), to Jacob at Peniel (Ge 32:24,30), to Joshua at Gilgal (Jos 5:13,15), of the Angel of the Lord, were doubtless manifestations of the Divine presence, “foreshadowings of the incarnation,” revelations before the “fulness of the time” of the Son of God. The existence and orders of angelic beings can only be discovered from the Scriptures. Although the Bible does not treat of this subject specially, yet there are numerous incidental details that furnish us with ample information. Their personal existence is plainly implied in such passages as Ge 16:7,10-11; Jg 13:1-21; Mt 28:2-5; Heb 1:4, etc. These superior beings are very numerous. “Thousand thousands,” etc. (Da 7:10; Mt 26:53; Lu 2:13; Heb 12:22-23). They are also spoken of as of different ranks in dignity and power (Zec 1:9,11; Da 10:13; 12:1; 1Th 4:16; Jude 1:9; Eph 1:21; Col 1:16). As to their nature, they are spirits (Heb 1:14), like the soul of man, but not incorporeal. Such expressions as “like the angels” (Lu 20:36), and the fact that whenever angels appeared to man it was always in a human form (Ge 18:2; 19:1,10; Lu 24:4; Ac 1:10), and the titles that are applied to them (“sons of God,” Job 1:6; 38:7; Da 3:25; comp. Da 3:28) and to men (Lu 3:38), seem all to indicate some resemblance between them and the human race. Imperfection is ascribed to them as creatures (Job 4:18; Mt 24:36; 1Pe 1:12). As finite creatures they may fall under temptation; and accordingly we read of “fallen angels.” Of the cause and manner of their “fall” we are wholly ignorant. We know only that “they left their first estate” (Mt 25:41; Re 12:7,9), and that they are “reserved unto / judgement” (2Pe 2:4). When the manna is called “angels’ food,” this is merely to denote its excellence (Ps 78:25). Angels never die (Lu 20:36). They are possessed of superhuman intelligence and power (Mr 13:32; 2Th 1:7; Ps 103:20). They are called “holy” (Lu 9:26), “elect” (1Ti 5:21). The redeemed in glory are “like unto the angels” (Lu 20:36). They are not to be worshipped (Col 2:18; Re 19:10). Their functions are manifold. (a) In the widest sense they are agents of God’s providence (Ex 12:23; Ps 104:4; Heb 11:28; 1Co 10:10; 2Sa 24:16; 1Ch 21:16; 2Ki 19:35; Ac 12:23). (b) They are specially God’s agents in carrying on his great work of redemption. There is no notice of angelic appearances to man till after the call of Abraham. From that time onward there are frequent references to their ministry on earth (Gen 18; 19; Ge 24:7,40; 28:12; 32:1). They appear to rebuke idolatry (Jg 2:1-4), to call Gideon (Jg 6:11-12), and to consecrate Samson (Jg 13:3). In the days of the prophets, from Samuel downward, the angels appear only in / their behalf (1Ki 19:5; 2Ki 6:17; Zech 1-6; Da 4:13,23; 10:10,13,20-21). The Incarnation introduces a new era in the ministrations of angels. They come with their Lord to earth to do him service while here. They predict his advent (Mt 1:20; Lu 1:26-38), minister to him after his temptation and agony (Mt 4:11; Lu 22:43), and declare his resurrection and ascension (Mt 28:2-8; Joh 20:12-13; Ac 1:10-11). They are now ministering spirits to the people of God (Heb 1:14; Ps 34:7; 91:11; Mt 18:10; Ac 5:19; 8:26; 10:3; 12:7; 27:23). They rejoice over a penitent sinner (Lu 15:10). They bear the souls of the redeemed to paradise (Lu 16:22); and they will be the ministers of judgement hereafter on the great day (Mt 13:39,41,49; 16:27; 24:31). The passages (Ps 34:7; Mt 18:10) usually referred to in support of the idea that every individual has a particular guardian angel have no such meaning. They merely indicate that God employs the ministry of angels to deliver his people from affliction and danger, and that the angels do not think it below their dignity to minister even to children and to the least among Christ’s disciples. The “angel of his presence” (Isa 63:9. Comp. Ex 23:20-21; 32:34; 33:2; Nu 20:16) is probably rightly interpreted of the Messiah as the guide of his people. Others have supposed the expression to refer to Gabriel (Lu 1:19). • Sadako's Wish
    by Karin Taylor

    US$4.70–US$125.40

/ ‘Asia Series’ card by Karin Taylor This piece is imbued with a lot of heartfelt meaning. / Here is a painting I did in response to the story of Sadako. One day my daughter Sarah bought home a little sheet of paper with the story of Sadako on it and I was deeply moved by the tragic story of her life. You can read all about Sadako by googling her name or the story about the Thousand Paper Cranes. Just briefly though, Sadako was just a little baby when the atom bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, and by the age of 11 years she had lost her fight for life due to leukaemia, as a result of the radiation from the bomb. Sadako tried hard to be cheerful and dreamed of living a long life. A little friend of hers suggested that she make 1000 paper cranes, because as legend had it, doing this could make your dreams come true. Unfortunately, Sadako died, she was only able to make 600 cranes (please see Mui-Ling Teh’s comment below for more information), but her courageous effort and fighting spirit lives on in the hearts of everyone everywhere who hears her story of hope, faith and determination. / www.sadako.org/sadakostory.htm This picture is all about Sadako being taken up into heaven at the moment of her passing from this life to the next. There are a few symbols in this painting that represent different things. The camouflage on her dress represents wartime. The wings indicate Sadako has a heavenly body now, and you can see Sadako is actually affixing them to herself as she accepts her fate. The magic carpet is taking her up to heaven. The little doll is her companion in this life and the next, similar idea to the ancient egyptians who placed belongings of the deceased with them inside the pyramids for comfort in the next life, the circles in the background represent glowing light emanating from the black stars in the sky, guiding her way to her new destination. There is an air of both sadness and triumph…leaving this world is sad, but entering the next healed and whole is triumphant. This painting won a prize at an exhibition in Tweed Heads last year.

  • River's Snow Portrait
    by TerriRiver

    US$4.99–US$133.00

My dog River posing for a portrait in the snow. She has ALWAYS liked her picture being taken since she barely opened her eyes at two weeks of age. Her litter mates ran around when the camera aimed at them but she stood in attention every time a photo opportunity showed up! :) I’m sure she’d be glad that I donate the proceed of the sale of her photos to Nature Canada as she loves woods and her deer friends as much as I do! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada.

  • Metamorphosis
    by Bonnie Taylor Barry

    US$4.28–US$114.00

I was thinking of Julie Langford’s dear mother as I worked on this image, and I kept thinking how we all must undergo metamorphosis as we make the transition from this world where light is exterior to the next world where the interior light of our Maker can finally show through when we shed our caterpillar casing and spread our butterfly wings in the new life.

  • The First and The Last
    by amarica

    US$3.42–US$91.20

I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA, THE BEGINNING AND THE ENDING, / THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF YOUR FAITH. / IN THE BEGINNING I WAS THE WORD / AND, BY THE WORD, ALL THINGS WERE MADE. I WAS THE WORD AND THE WORD WAS BY MY SIDE, / WHEN I SPOKE, LIGHT OUT OF DARKNESS CAME. / I AND THE WORD CREATED THE WORLD AND ALL THINGS THEREIN, / AND WITHOUT THE WORD, NOTHING WAS MADE. HEAVEN AND EARTH, THE HOSTS AND ANGELS WE CREATED, / AND, AFTER OUR LIKENESS, MAN WE DID MAKE. / I CREATED THE WORLDS AND ALL THE LAWS THEREIN, / BY THE WORD, I CREATED, WE ARE ONE AND THE SAME. I’VE ALWAYS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE, / AND I LOVE THE MANKIND I MADE. / LIKE THE WIND OR THE AIR, YOU CAN’T SEE ME OR HEAR ME, / BUT I SEE YOU AND I HEAR EVERY SOUND THAT YOU MAKE. I AM THE FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY GHOST, / AND, THRU TIME, WE’VE WATCHED OVER OUR CHILDREN I MADE. / WE REJOICED IN YOUR TRIUMPHS AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH, / AND WEPT WHEN YOU HURT AND SHARED IN YOUR PAIN. I SET THE LAWS, AS A GUIDE FOR THE WORLD, / TO KEEP ORDER AND BALANCE, THE FOUNDATION WAS LAID. / AND, WHEN MAN COULD NOT LISTEN AND FOLLOW THE LAWS, / I BECAME FLESH AND, THRU ME, YOUR DEBT HAS BEEN PAID. I AM THE LIGHT, THE TRUTH, AND THE WAY. / I AM THE DOOR THAT LEADS TO LIFE, THE ONE AND ONLY WAY. / I AM THE ALPHA AND OMEGA, THE FIRST AND THE LAST, / I AM THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF YOUR FAITH. amari Image created with Apophysis Fractal art, Photoshop CS3 and Micrografx. / _____ Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. • "Now Watch and Learn!"
    by TerriRiver

    US$4.56–US$121.60

My new wolf friend was determined to teach me how to howl after our shared lunch. He very “tenderly” took half of my sandwich from my offering hand with his mouth, lay it down on the ground and ate it layer by layer, slowly and savoringly, unlike my dog River, who would ALWAYS “wolf down” whatever is offered to her! :) So now he set out, just a few feet away, raised one front leg a tiny bit for emphasis and howled. I got down on all fours, copied the posture and did the same. Obviously he was a little dissatisfied with my learning so he repeated the whole thing another time. And this time he was happy with his pupil. What a patient teacher I had! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada

  • Ice bridge
    by TerriRiver

    US$27.08–US$144.40

This is a little bridge in my piece of the woods after the first snow. All is calm and quiet. Even the deer seemed to be walking gingerly – not wanting to disturbed the “peace”. Some may even say that the picture portrays a feeling of “eerie-ness” but for me, it’s just the quietness and serenity. This is why I’d like to do my part to keep nature this way! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada

  • For really stupid reasons I hadn’t seen my last surviving grandfather or spoken to him in four years, other than on the phone when he would call. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday. Tonight my father, stepmom, my sister and I went to see him. He was asleep, so we never got to talk to him. The nurse said he could live anywhere from 24 hours to a week. I watched him for several minutes, listening to his laboured breathing, knowing that soon he would be reunited with his wife, who died 11 years earlier. He would be free from pain. He’d be able to walk without his walker. He’d know heaven’s peace and eternal rest. But for now, he was caught somewhere between this world and the afterlife. He died less than 2 hours after our visit. I had already made this artwork and I was in the process of writing this poem when we got the call that he had died. Both this artwork and poem are dedicated to him and his 93 years. Somewhere In Between / ~ / Too humble to be heaven’s worth / Too beautiful to be our fragile earth / Is this just some intangible dream? I walk toward this brilliant light / With wings that carry me into the night / Yet still, I hear myself breathe. I hear voices and clearly sense / A peace beyond human transience, / Something beautiful and divine, I believe I hear the infinite chorus / Of all those who’ve passed before us / But I realize these voices lie not ahead, but behind.
