The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. The magical confines of Antelope Canyon awash in light from above. This slot canyon is a marvel of sandstone curves and erosion.

Mt. Edgecumbe, a small volcano off the coast of Sitka Alaska is rarely visible and certainly in my 20 years of traveling up there I have never once seen the sun set over Edgecumbe like this. Truly inspiring light!

I realized that the image I intended to post as At Play in the Fields of the Lord was actually this one and not the one I did post. I like that one, too but of all the shots taken that magical morning on the last day of October, this is my favorite. /

A storm had just passed over Watkins Glen and the warm sun was breaking through the misty air in the glen. Watkins Glen State Park is located in the Finger Lakes region of New York, at the southern end of Seneca Lake. This image was captured with a Canon EOS DSLR / Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens. The focal length was 21mm, ISO was set at 400 with an f/8 aperture and shutter speed of 1/30 sec. This is my rendition of the stairway to heaven, when we go toward the light. In my mind it is this brilliant light filled with the colors of the rainbow. The dove of peace or the Holy Spirit would be waiting to show me the way and to take away any fear. I am not afraid of dying, in fact, I think that it will be the positive experience to far out weigh any positive experience that I have ever had, other than my birth. This is MANY photos, layers, and textures deep. so much so I could not understand why my iMac was being slow towards the end well turns out the raw unmerged file is well over a GIG. I think this is my biggest yet. / Thank you for looking! This actually started out to be a DARK Image but nothing would really work out. Once I completed it I showed my brother. He and I are very close and he said have you noticed that you are no longer in the dark at the bottom of your art? You are now in the light and right in the center and moving higher with each piece? / WOW what an impact that had on me! My earlier art was dark and basically I was putting myself in Hell in most of my work But I think I worked through so much with my art that time and gaining some self worth has moved me upwards and I have allowed myself to leave the self made cage/hell and go into the light and really LIVE. / Thank you Joey for helping me along the way. I would never have made it without your Love.
