Well this is a bit of an experiment with custom brushes and perspective, using Photoshop to just create whatever I wanted over the course of about a week. / Enjoy! =) Title inspired by ‘Keep Your Heart Broken’ by The Rasmus. “My love will grow black if your heart gets stolen / Just promise to keep your heart / One day I’ll come back if the door’s still open / Just promise to keep your heart broken / Forever and after my love / Just promise to keep your heart broken” Time Consumed: About ten hours, maybe a little less. / Tools: Photoshop and Wacom. Ok so as the story goes… this was right place right time with a camera and imagination…. / I had just taken Dylan (son, featured) to the park for his afternoon play and was carrying around my Canon 20D (getting old now.. poor baby) and 50mm lens.. When we spotted this tiny little heart on the ground.. 1+1=2.. :D (I think?)

Inspired by the journeys of the heart through dreaming. This illustration is an exploration into outside influences on the heart specifically when ones eye’s are closed, when the resonance of the day echoes through the night. I’m interested in elements that stir the emotions including music, relationships and even the weather outside your bedroom window; All influencing the fluctuations of the heart. This illustration began with some pressed flowers, a rough pencil sketch and pen and then finished off with photoshop.
